well i disagree when when attackers run circles around you and make you look a fool, shows that the team is not organized defensively , the same player year before and year after at Inter played well so that makes Ur arguments rather meaningless , by mentioning other Villarreal as good players and Pointing at Zapata you are hinting that he is responsible for the situation or the same with Samuel .

It means that football is played differently in Spain than it is in Italy, so defending is not the same. At the end of the day, Samuel wasnt equipped to handle the higher lines, the fast pace and the tricky duels in 1v1.

Zapata was part of the problem but not the sole responsible. a team is the sum of its part, you can lay the blame on everyone at the end of the day, yet some manage to showcase their talent, as i mentioned, and some look like fools all year long, that's the case with Zapata.

Nick you are making contradictory statements here. You said playing for Madrid is harder than playing for Roma. Yet, you say playing for Madrid and Villareal is the same when the attackers run circles around you. Doesn't the same apply to Gago when he is bossing the midfield for Roma?

Whatever the case, Gago has the talent to become an excellent player and i believe he is already on his way. Admittedly, he did not put himself about in the best possible manner at Madrid, but you cannot say Madrid are completely faultless here. He could have been taken care of. You may say he did not have the talent to deserve that kind of nurture, but we don't know that for sure.

CL games is the same for clubs and he handled himself well in that and besides players need time to adjust to different leagues back to the subject i still on my first opinion that Gago could have improved way more in clubs that are not all about business , he is a good lad and i hope he achieve what he deserves either at Roma or any other Team

Well, he got as good as he could, i cant feel sorry for him because i have seen the likes of Higuain and Marcelo in the same conditions growing into top top players at Madrid. Gago had his chances, probably a lot more than many, but maybe, just maybe, he wasnt as good as advertised? still a good player, but nothing special.

Its the Manager preference Enrique wanted technical quality and calm, reliable distribution and Zeman wants Dynamic Midfielders that can engage in attacking duo to the method of play that defending by sending the nearest players and get the possession by out numbering the opposition , other than that there is no problem with Gago as a player

Not one person at Roma questions Gago's ability as a footballer. Zeman has a specific idea for what he wants in his midfielders and Gago doesn't fit the bill. That's not his fault. He's well worth 7m on evidence of the season he had, but politics and tactics had more to do with him leaving than his play on the pitch.

On the topic of Cambiasso, Gago and Samuel:

Cambiasso simply wasn't a good player for Real Madrid. Of course, he was rather talented and due to a severe lack of patience, logic and forward thinking, the club decided to let him go to Inter. He showed his real potential at Inter and he became what he is today.

Samuel, sigh. He was a rather big disappointment. A great defender but he just was way too static and slow to cope with the more flair type players of La Liga. Of course, Real Madrid's lack of defensive structure didn't help much but his individual performance was severely lacking (does remind me of Zapata's time at Villareal).

Gago is an interesting scenario. Like Sneijder, he started off really nice at Real Madrid. After the 2008 season, most of fans (Real fans that is) were pretty excited since his play was identical to a Redondo. However, constant injuries which resulted in a serious lack of form and the emergence of Barcelona's ridiculously great team just killed his time at the Bernabeu slowly and surely. Good player but he never improved much (or at all).
