Wow, really? If this is true, it sucks . I had hoped that he would stay at AC Milan, and if he were to move, I hoped that it was to Barcelona.........

Re: LEquipe: Thiago Silva, Ibra and Verratti to PSG! (UPDATED July 17)
LeParisien believes that Thiago might have already passed his medical visit, as he took a plane to Paris after the Argentina game and then went back to Brazil.
They say that he will sign for 40m + 9m wages with bonuses that could take it up to 10m. That's about what Sportsczy said yeserday.
They mention that Leonardo + Ancelotti + MALDINI (hahah) all lobbied to bring him to PSG.
If you remember i posted about Maldini thinking about joining Leonardo at PSG because he had disagreements with peeps in Milan....
Galliani is expected in Paris tomorrow and the deal coud be made official as soon as tomorrow; Thiago will likely put pen to paper from Brazil.

Re: LEquipe: Thiago Silva, Ibra and Verratti to PSG! (UPDATED July 17)
A signing like Silva could possibly make/convince some more bigger players to join perhaps ?
I mean ,i can imagine PSG barging into the race for signing Van Persie, you never know.

Yeah... some say he passed his medical yesterday and left already. There are conflicting reports there. But it's certain he was in Paris yday.
Galliani is in Paris right now meeting with PSG.

Dude its not about being the better player ,its also about the popularity quotient..
Van Persie is certainly a more 'profiled' name than Falcao.

Don't see how this makes Thiago a mercenary. He's a professional and as such he goes where the best opportunities lie for him. If PSG actually complete the signings of Lavezzi, TS and Falcao, they would have a better team than Milan. PSG is also improving whereas Milan is strapped for cash and declining, and TS knows this. PSG might even go further in the CL than Milan, if they complete those signings.

why the lolz . I am not sure what Maldini has to do with PSG or Milan , in this situation . He's not even officialy included in this . Moreover , why LeParisien would know this about Maldini when that's not heard of in Italy , i can't tell ..
Maldini just stated that if Milan must sell , they better sell one of Silva-Ibra , just not both . If you consider this that he lobbied to take Silva to PSG , then i rest my case.

Why would PSG need to sign Falcao, what happened to Gameiro I don't get to watch much of the french league but I always like to watch PSG when I can so I can watch him in action.

It's not as important as it was last season, when they were thinking about bringing Beckham. Now they have a WC coach, they are making important signings, and everyone that knows about footy knows PSG already. Finding the best fit is more important to me (also, stay away from the guy who was injured all his career...).

Gameiro is a nice Ligue 1 forward, but he doesnt have the stomach for what's coming at PSG. He crumbled under the pressure this season, he had plenty of chances, started the season great, but couldnt keep it up.

Ah fair enough, it's a shame as I thought the way he was heading he could become a better player than Benz.

He's downgrading, if you like, because of money which, in my eyes, makes him a mercenary. The project PSG have going in is very interesting, but he's leaving AC Milan at a hard time, where they are struggling financially. Yes, the money will help, but his services are at a much higher priority.
For the post above, Gameiro has struggled under the pressure he has been put under. He has been expected to lead the line, but he hasn't shown enough consistency. Falcao isn't the property of Atletico Madrid, for all those who don't know, Atletico haven't paid the full instalment to Porto, plus, he belongs to a separate party, can't remember who though. Likely to leave, unless Atletico get their pay cheques out.

Nick I take issue with your sources. Was TS with Brazil in the US? He didn't play against Argentina and as far as I know he wasn't in the bench, since it was a U23 team. So I'm not sure he was actually in Brazil, given that he's not U23.

Re: LEquipe: Thiago Silva, Ibra and Verratti to PSG! (UPDATED July 17)
My point is that there are legit sporting reasons to join them. PSG have a higher chance of winning Ligue 1 than Milan Serie A. PSG have a higher chance of going farther in the CL, if they complete those signings.II Capitano wrote:He's downgrading, if you like, because of money which, in my eyes, makes him a mercenary. And there's more money involved. So what? He's a professional ffs, he gets paid to play. That's his job. If you were an architect working for Firm A and Firm B came along and offered to double your contract, wouldn't you take the offer? That doesn't make him a mercenary, it makes him exactly the same as all of us. It's not like Milan are his childhood club, or the club that trained him from his youth.

I don't think he's downgrading.
Milan seems to be taking a more conservative direction for maintenance, while PSG is seriously doing work.
You could make the argument he could go to a bigger club , but whatever.

Well this will be the 7th club he plays for if he goes.
But yeah, I agree. He doesn't leave clubs in a manner that brands him as a mercenary.

There's only one sporting reason that I have already mentioned, and that is PSG have a better project set up long term wise than AC Milan do, so it's a much more attractive place. In a couple of seasons, or less, PSG are going to become formidable opponents in Ligue 1. They can attract top talent with this project and, of course, money, which they can afford to splash. Other than that, there are no other footballing reasons.
Well done, he's a professional, but loyalty comes into question. He has been struck by injury, Milan are in a poor position, so he decides to leave? Trophy-less season for Milan? Leaves for PSG? More money involved. It all adds up perfectly. If he was joining a top club in Barcelona etc. then he wouldn't be branded as a mercenary because they are proven quality. PSG are essentially new, clearly Milan are in it for the money too, having stopped negotiating with Barcelona entirely.

We were the club who made him who he is though . I still remember when he signed , common belief were he was going to play right back for us , not even CB , even though he already knew the position.
If it wasn't for Maldini & especialy Nesta to mentor him all this time and learn that much in Milan in general , he wouldn't be that important today .
I get what you are saying though . Just , he owes a lot to Milan and if anything , it's not something easy for him , despite the money he will be earning if he goes.
