Ledley King retires
Body just can't take another season apparently so he's decided to hang up his boots.
Sad to see honestly since he's a very good defender when fit and has led Spurs from the back in their best moments.
Wish him all the best.

Another fantastic footballer who couldn't fulfil his potential because of injuries. Was very important last season and in general for Spurs, only lost two or three games with him playing last season. Wish him all the best classy player.

Good defender, but pretty sure he won't be missed as much as he was always injured in the first place.

Hardly, why do you think they signed Vertonghen?
In any case King was a fantastic defender before his injury problems, if he never got those injury problems he would have played many times for England.
Such a shame.

Re: Ledley King retires
JT and Rio were both better than him. He obviously would have gotten more caps but the whole "greatest CB since Baresi" thing is all bollocks.
Glad to see the racist bastard out of our game for good.

At this best before injuries crippled him, he was a better defender than both of them.

Rio and JT were both considered Top 5 CB's long before his knee's got shot. He was their backup in the NT for a reason after all.

Re: Ledley King retires
Your talking about the national team that played Scholes outwide ffs
Being in any particular pecking order had no relevance at that time.
It was all about who you was and who you played for more than how good you were.
I mean Beckham had over 120 caps ffs.

Henry says he was the best, thats good enough for me.
Anyway, a shame, a real great defender at his best.

Villa & Ronaldinho both said JT's the best defender they've ever played against.

Scholes played outwide in one tournament, stop acting like it was the norm ffs. Tired of people revising history.
He would have moved back into the middle if he wasn't such a quitter.
Agree with you on Beckham though lol. Shite player.

Re: Ledley King retires
Well neither played vs King before lol
But no, seriously, I could imagine them saying that, I mean who else have they played against who could be better?
Villa has seen Vidic raped first hand, Nesta didnt do anything to either, I am already struggling for names.
Ronaldinho used Terry as a toilet paper before, but he knows how difficult he can be.

LMFAO John Terry being a WC defender!! I'm sorry but no, he never has or will be.
The guy has a Chelsea heart but skills of a dyslexic playing scrabble..
Top 3 most over rated players ever imho.

Re: Ledley King retires
Can't take anyone who claims Terry wasn't World Class seriously. Hate him all you want but before the 2nd back injury he was undoubtedly a WC player.
Ramos?

Ramos was maybe Ronadinho's number 1 rape victim, it was just getting sad really. That hattrick game Ramos got the schooling for his life lol
Villa has cut open Madrid many times, seen Ramos make mistake after mistake against us.

I can't even comprehend how you can play football with that level of Arthritis, people have retired earlier for less.

So sad to hear this
Good luck in retirement King! I won't forget you, and all you've done for Spurs, being such a loyal servant to the club despite your injuries.
Potentially one of the best CB's in this generation, if not for injuries. The man was an absolute rock at the back. Surely better than JT ( ) and Rio when he was fit.
