Cesc saying what we all knew

cesc played really well first half of the season. He has shown, he can play well for Barca.

A little competition since now villa, pedro are back will do him good.
imo; he didnt play that badly last season, he missed a few sitters tho, nothing to do with the system.

People criticise his move to barca but i feel without him last season, villa and pedro injured ,Barca would have been far worse off. Even thierry struggled at first at barca.

if xavi or iniesta get injured (God forbid) for > 4 weeks, What then?

I guess Thiago would get a chance.

Its not really Cesc's fault. One thing I learned is players are who they are, very rarely do they change how they think and then go on to excell with a completely different identity as a player.

Cesc is what Arsenal needed him to become. Perhaps if he stayed at Barca in the first place he would of learned the "right" way of playing the midfield position for us, but he didnt so he hasnt.

I think even with his current style, he can be of some use. Though mostly as in impact sub and exclusively with Xavi and Busquets, orat least Thiago and Busquets behind him as they have no problems sitting deep and keeping the ball circulating.

The problem I have is more once Xavi is gone, a midfield of Iniesta, Cesc and Busquets, how they play now, just cant work.

i feel barca fans are too spoiled. Most of the cesc criticisms came after the chelsea games. Cesc's presence during the clasico's made us unpredictable

By most other top clubs midfielders' standards, Cesc had a good season.

With a squad that seriously lacked depth, the addition of cesc has been vital.

And no, he wasnt unpredictable against Madrid, he scored a tap in which was 90% Dani Alves good work and he didnt have a good season in any way shape or form.

He midfield play was poor, the only possible way you can claim a good season is via goal tally..but when Xavi matches your in that, its not really anything to brag about.

And we didnt lack any depth in midfield at all, actually because of him we had too much. So much so that Pep had to find time for his favourite play thing Keita in a position he cannot play, holding midfield.

you know what, i'm pretty sure Tito/ Pep and his team know how they want to play, who to add or not to add to the squad to make us better, mor than anyone on these forums.

Barca have set such a high standard that we expet them to be so brilliant all the time.

I personally liked cesc addition to our squad and will surely enjoy watching him next season.

If only he had scored that sitter at stamford bridge, things would be different with many fans.

Was Pep right about Ibra? Was he right about Caceres and Chgy? No.

Pep is a human, they make mistakes.

I dont expect anything, I demand it and so should you. Only the highest standards are good enough for our club right now and anything less isnt acceptable.

Bottom line, loads of people said Barca dont need Cesc and they gave reasons. The season unfolded and those exact reasons proved to be right.

I dont understand how you guys can take this as a confirmation that he will end up as a flop. He only said that he needs to relearn the system and that its to hard for him to learn it in a year....

Hopefully Barca take a long hard look at their previous business with Arsenal and realize that they need to feck off over signing our players. It's bad enough having Man City do it. Arsenal DNA =/= Barca DNA (Henry doesn't count because he could have succeeded anywhere). Leave Song alone!!

Actually, how many Arsenal players have had better personal performances at City? Adebayor was good for them but is now frozen out of the squad for whatever reason and they want to get rid of him, Nasri warms the bench quite frequently, and Kolo Toure has lost his spot in the team. Only Clichy can really say he has been better since joining them. I suppose if you win trophies, even due to no real effort of your own, it will always look like you made the right choice though.
