He was still very young when he left and a "WC prospect" in my eyes. Was definitely not an established player even though he did play a lot of games.

Saying that, he would of been banging them in if he stayed. He just couldn't say no to RM (not many players can't) which utlimately ruined his career.

Really hope we can keep hang of Sterling, and I feel we will as he loves the club and the city. He's at the age of just wanting to play first team football, and I highly doubt he'd leave now after just breaking in.

A player is no longer a "prospect" at the age of 24/25...

Spoiler:

Fernando was a fraud from the get-go before he even came to Liverpool. His acts of love and blessing to the Vicente Calderon were uncannily similar to his allegiance to Liverpool. In the end he pulled a near similar stunt to Atletico when he came to Anfield which always gave me doubts on his future allegiance to our club. Him leaving didn't surprise me at all.

And you've come to this conclusion...how?

LOL.

Apologies. Always thought Owen left at 22. Ah well.

Saying that, Neil Mellor, if not for the injuries would of been a promising player for us.

In the past though. Step up Raheem Sterling.

Steerling reminds me of Sean Wright Philips.

I hope he reaches his level though.

Let's just pretend he was wearing an Arsenal guernsey... how highly would you rate him then?

To be fair of highburied statement.. Shaun Wright Phillips as a prospect was incredible.. He at the time looked like english Messi... Too bad he didn't progress and failed at Chelsea

Ironic that, coming from a Gunner. Is Giroud better than Van Persie yet?

You are really over reacting

Shaun Wright Phillips was considered to be a really great talent till he fell wayside.

Now that you mention it, Sterling DOES remind me of a young Wright-Phillips. Let us just hope he doesnt go wayward like phillips did.

At 17, I think Sterling is burning out due to his workload. He looks to me that he can break down anytime with that body of his.

Actually it's physically easier to be playing a lot at 17 than at 27. But it's unlikely he'll feature in the Ukraine game. Positive of Hodgson to be calling up youngsters, imo.

Joke. Hope he won't play.

It's Hodgson though...absolute joke.

Very sorry to hear this.

Though, FA just want to tie him for England, since Jamaica are begging him to play for them

Gerrard: "Let's not build them up and put too much pressure on them. Let them just progress and become good players naturally."

This ^^

Nice for Sterling to get called up, but I'd be a bit worried about the physical nature of International football and that it may be a bit early for the lad. Then again I suppose the PL is a physical league and he seems to be coping well so I'm not sure what to think.

Burn out too is a slight worry, but I suppose he's hardly going to be right into the team.

As Sepi eluded to above, FA are probably just trying to get him on the pitch even for a minute to stop the Jamaican interest.

FA want to get this Lad.
Good move by England, Give him 15 mins and then never call him for 4-5 years. It just depends on how Sterling reacts to this.

Anyways Sterling is an amazing potential, Future best winger in the league.

Very glad he got called-up.

I don't think the likes of Sterling, Livermore and Lallana will feature against Ukraine but it's still a positive sign. Feel sorry for Dyer though, who gets overlooked for whatever reason.

By Calling Sterling up, He won't be able to play for Jamaica now so it kinda makes sense because Jamaica could very well convince him to play for them since he would be a starter there. Although it's way too early for him since he is just 17.

Lallana deserved the call up. Livermore is a joke

Really, for 17 he is extremely talented. Def a special player for his age. Whether he continues to improve and fulfill that potential is another issue.
