Re: Arsenal Rumours Thread
I think the saddest thing of a lot of this summer's "dead wood" is that some of them have looked genuinely good in spells - Bendtner, Park, Vela, even Chamakh (who I bet will stay at Arsenal this season) ... all of them have impressed at certain points in their career, although not always in an Arsenal shirt. Or, if so, not always for long stretches. I trust Wenger's judgment that Park wasn't up to snuff, but the few glimpses we had of the Korean seemed - to me - to show the spark of an exciting forward. So that makes it sad from a Gooner's perspective. As for Bendtner, I'm sure a lot of the talk is agent-fueled, but I don't totally disbelieve that interest in him from big clubs is fabricated. He's capable of good things and I think it's too bad that he hasn't really worked out for Arsenal, or shown execution on the pitch commensurate with his giant ego. This is all to say that I hope Arsenal can unload the remaining players to decent clubs on permanent deals, and fair play to 'em if & when they go. (Provided they go to clubs outside the PL.)
I'm really hoping that Wenger can bring in a couple solid buys over the next week and I like the rumors about how he is putting a premium on PL experience. I hope they're true. Podolski, Giroud, and especially Cazorla look like very solid signings but they also will need time. (Including Cazorla, who looks great but will need some time to forge a sophisticated understanding with his teammates.) A player or two who already know the pace of the game, and who already know a lot of the opposition, will be helpful.

I want to agree with you here, but the question begs to be asked : How many players of the type you suggest are actually available in the last 4-5 days of the transfer window after 2 rounds of the league are already over, at non-inflated prices?

The Isco thing favors us because Malaga wants chamakh. We can easily do a 7m + chamakh for Isco deal or something

It was never meant to happen i guess. Shame really as he is actually talented.
I would say the 2 years he lost due to injury is coming back to haunt him.

About time, what were we thinking, paying their wages every week, should have done this while back to free up money and space.

Leverkusen successfully knocked back interest from Madrid and Bayern. There's no chance of us signing Lars Bender.

We should get him on loan if we manage to get rid of all the other strikers, he would take the pressure of Giroud and Poldi. Imagine Berbatov scoring against Scum at White hart lane . Do it Wenger make it happen

You know if he was an Arsenal player we would have sold him when a big team came for him, I wish we were as stubborn as other teams.
