Not at all, you don't win Football matches without goals. Sure some of them tend to have the bigger egos, but it's not completely undeserved considering that they are a very vital piece in a teams success.

Anyway, I believe they are. They are stat padders and most of the time they are shite. People think Ronaldo and Messi are decent when they only needed to score around 20 goals to get the same result for their team. They aren't team players...

The real players are the strikers up front like Heskey and Carroll. The ones that can hold up play, they can pressure defenders, win headers, do scissors moves, and assist goals. They don't always score, but when they do, they make sure it's not stat padding.

if you score most of your goals against relegation fodder and regularly go missing in big games yes, you're a stat padder...

Scoring against relegation teams is also a stat to be padded

Wouldn't scoring only in big games make a player inconsistent? So which is worse to be: inconsistent or stat padder?

Stat padder is someone either scoring a lot of goals or going out of their way to get a lot of assists.. I want more stat padders in my team if that's the case.

Scoring 4 and 5's in meaningless games to pad his stats and doing nothing in big games.
