First thought is play a standard 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield. Main problem is lack of width so use the extra player as an extra CB and push the full backs much further forward to provide the width without leaving the team overly exposed at the back.

Really depends on the players though.

I know alot of people e gonna question Robben and Schweini, but Robben still had a good season, he just had a bad ending to the season, and Schweini was fighting through injury for most of the season and the few times he was fully fit, for example the Madrid ties, he showed what he was capable of by dominating the midfield. Form is temporary, class is permanent, that's the way I think of it too. That applies to Vidic as well.
