I'm surprised that Abate is only tenth and not faster, Elia suprises me the most but then again; Juventus treated him badly so I never really saw much of him!

I wonder how this sports website evaluates them, I believe based on speed runs and tests Tello has been proven to be faster then Ronaldo, in top speed not acceleration
but then again I don't know how this list is formed.

Btw any info how this thing is calculated and what are the criterias?

I am suprised that Bale is so low, I thought he would atleast be top 5.

35. Obafemi Martins (Levante) This one surprises me the most I remember he was quick at Newcastle but top 35th is quite amazing.

The writer who put up this list says its "a list that is based on a combination of both sprinting ability, acceleration and speed with the ball".

it's too hard to tell without proper stats like 40m. 100m sprints tests with and without the ball.. really curious as to what data they've used to throw together that list..

pure acceleration over 40yds i would have to say it is Theo Walcott

Gee, when was the article written? Sanchez has displayed any pace on or off the ball with his pace. Afellay should be on there. Marcelo is easily on that list than a few of those there...

Some of those rankings are ridiculous i.e Robben is somehow faster than Gareth Bale LOL and Callejon being faster than Neymar. Callejon shouldn't even be in that list

Tello should easily be in the top 10 and the fact that Pato is not even on that list completely discredits it. Pato is arguably THE fastest player in football along with Walcott and players like Bale and Ronaldo

David Odonkor in his high time would probably have been Nr.1. The only drawback with him was that he always forgot to take the ball along when he started for a sprint

You guys underestimate the speed while dribbling stat and it's obviously important and weighted heavily otherwise Boateng would be top ten or at least above Ronaldo - That's why Robben is the best at what he does so predictably - He is one of the fastest, if not the fastest while actually dribbling the ball at pace; It's why his cutting inside so lethal - defenders simply can't keep up.

Ok guys, I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure that Alba, Farfan, Martins and Neymar could beat most of the guys above them in a 100m sprint 10/10 times.

Speed dribbling a ball? Hold on, that means someone who kicks the ball hard ahead of him then reaches it first will have a higher speed then someone who slows down and uses tricks to get past a player. This list is stupid.

I remember reading an article that Robben had a 32.9 odd speed hm per hour behind Ronaldo.

Even last year as far as I remember he was like 5 or 6th in terms of sprints. Huge fall for him to 9th. I was expecting Top 3-5 but injuries have taken their toll on him.

This list sucks. Lennon should be top 5 at least, not only is his acceleration ridiculous, his top sprinting speed is too, and MOST of his sprinting is WITH the ball...
