Most Loyal Players
No need to bring up Del Piero, Zanetti, Gerrard, Puyol, Totti and co...
Id like to discuss the younger generation though.
For example, most Catalans are loyal. Iniesta and Xavi will never play for another team imo.
Are John Terry and Rooney loyal?? (before you answer, they have a record of requesting transfer)
In my team, Jack Wilshere really seems committed but I dont trust Arsenal board, they will try the best to sell him in a near future.
How about Messi??

Every footballer that plays in a big club, gets paid good or both is "loyal".

Re: Most Loyal Players
Marchisio and Chiellini to Juve. Buffon too but hes last generation. Vidal is very loyal too.
Podolski is very loyal to Koln. He left, but he had to in order to better himself.
Schweinsteiger and Lahm to Bayern. Probably Kroos, Muller, Badstuber, and Alaba too. Ribery is also pretty loyal to Bayern.

Re: Most Loyal Players
barca has been like the best team in the world for the past couple of seasons and regarded as the greatest of all time by many
so why would anyone want to leave them? at least from those who r playing
if this barca team wasnt as successful, if actually they were something like arsenal glory wise
probably xavi or iniesta or both would have left already
so they r loyal to the team's power more than anything else
same goes with messi, he would have left eventually if the team wasnt as strong & successful
just sayin
edit: urban kinda got me to it

Re: Most Loyal Players
Good call on Agger.
He is wanted by others but sticking with Liverpool.
Thats loyal.
Id like to bring up another name though.. .
Is De Rossi refusing to leave or Roma board refusing to sell him or both?
I know City are desperate to sign him.

DISCLAIMER: This story is about as accurate as JT's 2008 Champions League final penalty
that is low

Ibra gets paid well and changes clubs every couple seasons.
Some departures in Barcelona come to my mind a few years ago.
etc etc...
Do you think City players love their club?

John Terry is moving to Serbia now so that story has no credibility.

Re: Most Loyal Players
Firstly Iniesta isn't Catalan, and while he's loyal its nowhere near on the same level as Xavi (or even Puyol).
Xavi is Barca obsessed, more so than Puyol. The most emblematic player in the history of the club I believe so easily the same level as Zanetti, Totti, Giggs etc.
... Yeah, no. Probably none of them would have left already. And this statement that they are 'loyal to the team's power' is silly too. Not every player is an Ibrahimovic. I don't think any of these players would have left actually. Particularly not Xavi, how ridiculous.
This is also kind of flawed because the team is good because they're in it. Of course loyalty goes hand in hand with talent, because if you measure it by them never leaving then the players that never leave are always the great players.
Some players you could say are also 'loyal' from Barca are Bojan and Oleguer... They just didn't cut it, so had to leave.

Re: Most Loyal Players
Oka Nikolov.
Has been with Eintracht Frankfurt for 21 seasons, heading into the 22nd.
Suck on that, everyone else.
(Okay, he played for the reserves until '94, so if you're really strict, it's only 17 seasons. Well, 18, when this one's over.)

Re: Most Loyal Players
Its sad when players want to stay but the board forces them to leave.
Nasri, Song, RvP, Cole, Pires, Ljunberg, Adebayor, Toure, etc.... All could stay if Board tried harder.

I don't think you are serious about Buffon, he created a sh!t storm some years ago and demanded immediate transfer and was very close to joining Milan.juventus101 wrote:Marchisio and Chiellini to Juve. Buffon too but hes last generation. Vidal is very loyal too.

If it was all up to him he would have left but the club kept him.

BTW I totally overlooked this, but: Vidal?!?!? Seriously?
He only ended up at Juve because he was pushing so hard for that Bayern move while he was at Leverkusen, Völler eventually had enough and decided to cash in, that's when he went to Juve.
And he did it in quite a public manner, what Vidal did, was pretty close to really shafting his own club back then.
I mean I don't blame him, who wants to play for Neverkusen? But it was disloyal.
