What a sublime performance from our little Spaniard!!!!
I couldn't tell from the clip... is the the guy that flubbed the 1 v 1, or was he the one that passed the beautiful through ball?
All in all seemed like an impressive game though. Dat close control

Re: Youth and Reserve Thread
Tbh I'm not sold on Coady at all. I don't think he'll be good enough to be an important player for the first team. I used to rate him very highly when he was younger but his development has plateaued. He's 20 years old now and doesn't look like he'll be breaking into the first team anytime soon. I think he'll be a good professional with a decent career at some lower level PL club but sadly it won't be us.
However, I would love nothing more than for him to prove me wrong.
All of my hopes of the new Stevie G is on 16 year olds Jordan Rossiter's shoulders. He's a starter for U18s already and looks a carbon copy of Stevie in his style of play even in his physicality. Hopefully he'll be partnering Chirivella next season. Also Canos will most likely be in that team as well NextGen will be fun to watch.

Actually coady plays more defensive compared to players like suso n other midfielders. He shows that ability sometimes with neat n crisp passing, reading of the game. I think he needs time to get into a good mould to play DM or some role for a team like us. Like today the first goal england conceded, was almost his fault or the brilliance of the opponent midfielder

Re: Youth and Reserve Thread
Shelvey joins the list (Pacheco, Ayala, Wilson, Spearing) of highly rated young talents who couldn't make it with us. Not to mention the half-a-dozen or so players relesed each year. Hope Yasil, Suso, Rahim has different future.
If I'm not wrong, since Carragher & Gerrard only Kelly can claim to have made it to the senior team.

Yesil doesn't have a future with us. Was initially skeptical and the injury he succumbed strengthens my skepticism. Will be offloaded to Hoffenheim in a couple of years.
Sterling and Suso do have bright futures though.

Yesil is a beast. Let's just hope the injury didn't ruin his career. I fully expect him to be bossing for us in 3/4 for years.

This will do us a world of good in the Asian market. There are so many British-Asians that really only follow cricket so to have a role model in football would do a world of good for them and us.

Re: Youth and Reserve Thread
No doubt ill play this card when people from other countries make fun of my NT. But im not feeling any emotions. The guy signed for LFC, I hope he will breakthrough and become a star player for LFC. But at the end of the day 99% chances is that he will be choosing England over India even if the fact is that he is not good enough to represent England. If he does choose India, Then comes the dual citizenship problem my country has
He has stirred many fans in the Asian continent no doubt but most of them dont know how this work out. By the time he reaches 21-22, I am sure, he will become a Michael Chopra to all us Indians.
All this said, The raw talent pool in India is very good, We have atleast 15 kids going out of the country to play football. Most of them coming back because their parents cant afford shit or the kid doesnt have what it takes to play at the top level. The country's ignorance in all sports bar Cricket and the obvious problem of the kid struggling in India without a job if he doesn't make the grade abroad comes into play. So we remain shite, Young footballers at the end of the day become doctors and engineers.
Rant aside, I really hope he becomes a future LFC legend.

Re: Youth and Reserve Thread
I hope BR takes note of his performance. i always thought that he is more suited to CAM role, but I have almost watched all spanish U20 games and I think he is more suited to Xavi/Alonso like role. He can pull the strings from the midfield area, probably he is not the guy who will have many assists or goals but surely he can be an engine of any team. He has the ability to keep the ball under pressure, can dribble nicely, can drive the ball forward out of midfield area when under pressure and feed those important passes in the attacking third.
I guess it will very crucial how we deal with him in next 2-3 years because it is important that his raw talent should be moulded soon. Also he will be 21 soon. I am actually confused whether to keep him or loan him. When we loan him, he should be loaned to a proper club, where he will get at least 20 or more games throughout the season. At liverpool, it seems difficult that he will get proper chances.

Re: Youth and Reserve Thread
I totally agree with you HMR on the role Suso played but for now we have an abundance of that player. But its crucial we do not let him go to a club that doesn't fit our style cause then his grooming won't suit our style. I really hope he gets a good a chance at loan move.
