Which would you prefer?

Would rather have De Bruyne TBH, I see him as a top talent. By the way does the fact that he's injured for 4-6 weeks mean we can have a discount on him?
that sounds good but there is one big problem, you can't buy a injured player.
I think Chelsea are going to make a move for him next summer. Because they were planning to loan him back to Genk anyway.
Would love to see Chelsea sign him and Hazard.
I think we will see one more signing this summer, my guess it would be a midfielder.

Grew up idolizing Zola and a Arsenal fan?

Maybe not just an Arsenal fan it seems
He also "idolised" as you put it Henry

You can buy an injured player, if the club falsify his medical.
But Chelsea would definitely not buy him right now when he is injured, it would propose a big risk for them.

It depends on how strict the medical is or something, can't remember the whole Carroll situation but I'm pretty sure he passed his whilst still being injured.

Re: Summer Signings
Yup i guess ultimately the club decides if he passes the medical.
I want De Bruyne signed but there is no reason to sign him now. He was going on loan anyway.
I am excited to see how he does in the CL.

Re: Summer Signings
Might as well sign him and loan him back to his current club.

he may be able to, but exposing a young player too so much pressure and physical attacks may damage him for good

Re: Summer Signings
Genk midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has revealed talks are now taking place over a move to Chelsea.

Belgium international De Bruyne, 20, has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and it appears the move could be edging closer to completion.
De Bruyne told Extra Time: "My manager went to Chelsea on Wednesday and discussions have been good. The opportunity is there. I have a feeling I should do this and I always choose what I feel.
"Maybe by the end of the month a deal can be sorted out, because that would be a good thing for all three parties. The first year, I would continue playing at Genk and the second year we would have to take a decision - it would depend on my performance."
De Bruyne is currently out of action with an injury but he said: "It's not too bad. It's my first real injury, but I'll be able to play again within four weeks - possibly even earlier."
Chelsea have already signed Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois from Genk and allowed him to go out on loan to Atletico Madrid and former boss Franky Vercauteren - who recently departed for UAE side Al-Jazira - feels De Bruyne can follow in his footsteps.
"The coach took me aside last week," De Bruyne said. "He told me I'm ready to take the next step. He thinks I can play at a big club like Thibaut Courtois."
Chelsea are also set to sign Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku in the near future after a fee was agreed with Anderlecht.
I honestly think he would walk into our team. Don't see the need for a loan move tbh.

I haven't seen much of him other than a long range bullet he scored. What's he like?

Re: Summer Signings
Looks like he can dribble, nice shooting and can hit a long pass. I'd love to see him playing over malouda/kalou bringing some fresh blood and some creativity to the squad. Is a loanback definite if he's signed? Cause if he doesn't feel he is ready then maybe he isn't?

Re: Summer Signings
Based on that video, he would already be starting over Kalou or Malouda. I hope we sign him, he'll be another great addition to the long term core that's being built.

Re: Summer Signings
The thing that scares me is in the article it says:
It seems as though even if a deal goes through he's happy with the fact that he'd stay on loan another season :S

Re: Summer Signings
After spending the day trying to work out how with this current line up we could play to our strengths and so relying on the Left flank so much I came up with this lineup.
in this lineup Ivanovic doesn't have to push forward as Ramires is providing the width. Tis allows Luiz to push forward and play as a CM and Mikel and Ivanovic can cover him. cole still bombs down the wing and Malouda is allowed to cut in, no change on the left. sturridge can play as an out and out striker alongside Torres who finally gets some support, which he lacked on the weekend. Josh dictates play through the centre and has no need to push forward. And finally Mikel does what he does best, defends from the Makelele spot.
The only downside is Ramires is pushed out wide but it saves us using Kalou there.
