Summer Signings

Ok new thread,

I thought I'd start off by listing our summer targets, and give some info about them.

Neymar
In my opinion our most likely signing. We had a bid rejected last year and I'm sure we'll be bidding again this year. He's very talented and at 19 could spend a long time with the club. A very tricky wing-forward with an eye for goal who is very much a Key player at Santos. Also he is seen by many as the player who could bring Brazil to World cup glory in 2014 which will be held in Brazil.
The only problem is whether he is suited to Chelsea or the EPL or not. I rate him a 75% chance of signing and a 60% chance of becoming the next big thing at Chelsea. He'll set us back about 20-25m pounds though.

Lukaku
Drogba v2.0 Somes Lukaku up in 2 words. Not only that but Drogba is his idol and with Drogba aging now would be the Perfect time to bring in Lukaku as long as he can accept a bench role. If not a loan back option would be just as good. I rate him a 80% chance of signing and a 80% chance of doing great things with us. However, he'll set us back 20-25m pounds.

De Bruyne
I personally do not know much about him so some info would be nice.

Sneijder
In my opninion we won't be getting Wesley, he is wanted to united and city as well but Inter will do everything in their power to keep him. He is a world class attacking midfield who can score amazing goals. A player I would love to see at the Bridge but I give it a 5% chance of happening. He would most likely cost 30m+ as well.

Kaka
Kaka has commited himself to Real so we won't be signing him either. A shadow of his former self but still a decent player. I would only be happy with his signing if we got him for under 25m. I see a 1% chance of us signing him.

Van Der Wiel
One of the best young RB's in the world. This Ajax fullback is greating when it comes to attacking and defending, he was very good during the world cup last year and after almost joining Bayern last month I see him as very likely to leave Ajax this summer. he is was Chelsea needs in a fullback. Ivanovic is great but not attacking enough, VDW would bring in another attacking option as Bosingwa looks likely to leave. I give him a 70% chance of signing and a 50/50 shot of becoming a world class RB for us. he'll set us back about 10-20m

Begovic
Personally, I don't want him. I would rather see Hilario sold and our third GK spot given to Delac. Begovic is a good young Goalkeeper and would set us back somewhere between 5-10m. The rumours of us signing him have gone cold and I doubt we will.

Fabregas
Another near on impossible Target, I would love him at the club however, He only wants Barca. A great young Captain and would solve all of our creative problems. I give him a 10% chance of signing and if he did he'd set us back about 40-50m pounds.

Mata
I would love Mata at Chelsea, If it were up to me he'd be my first choice. Amazing player, A younger version of David Silva, I think if we bought him he would be the Answer to Torres' problem. He is able to play out wide on the wing or through the centre. I give him a 40% chance of coming to the bridge and an 90% chance to succeed if he does. He would cost 20-30m pounds but he would be worth it.

Modric
Another Creative AM we are linked with and In my opinion the one we should sign. He controlls Spurs play and was their best player this year (again, my opninion) but as he is a cross town rival we are unlikely to get him and even if we do it won't be cheap. He is a very good Dribbler and could certainly unlock Torres. I think there is only a 15% chance we'll sign him but he would most likely succeed if he joined us.

I heard from Neymar's agent that Neymar would cost around 40 m pounds...

He said santos rejected a 30m bid from us last time.

dont know how that works though; his release clause is 30m if im not mistaken....

They were just rough guesses. I personally have no idea how much Neymar will cost. Knowing us it'll be 30m+

Lukaku.

Is he still young? Last time I checked he was 17 lol, but that could have changed. Is now the time you will finally make a bid for him? I am interested in him, though I think paying a lot of money would be risky. (but not riskier than Piazon)

He turned 18 a few weeks ago.

I don't see Piazon as risky, I see Neymar as Risky. Lukaku would do well in the EPL IMO.

Piazon was a good move IMO. So i read above that Mata is a younger version of Silva. How old is Mata? If he is that good he would be my first signing as well

Mata is not the same as David Silva, Mata is more of a winger, where Silva is an AMF.

I also don't believe he is a target, all the reports suggest that Pool and City are after him the most. My bet is he stays at Valencia.

You forgot Modric and Pastore, because we have been heavily linked with them in recent weeks.

You also forgot Kevin De Bruyne, who i think it is our most likely signing.

I don't think Lukaku is going to cost anything near 22, i am thinking somewhere between 15-20m.

get over neymar,unless you guys are willing to spend 40 mil.hes not even thinking about europe right now.


his agent laughed at how chelsea were rumored to offer 23 mil for him now since abra offered 30 last year.

His agent can laugh all he wants

I am not counting on Neymar anymore, and tbh i wouldn't be disappointed at all because i think we will be fine without him.

Mata is 23 I believe and is a classy player, I would take him over neymar anyday of the year. He is more of a winger than silva too.

I'll do one for Pastore and De Bruyne when i have some free time.

I was also going to write one up for Modric, I'm not sure if there is anyone else.

His agent was laughing? Just see him come begging when he looks at Neymar's salary when he joins a big club.

Anyways, do you guys think we should loan him back for a year if we do sign him? With him, we will have two young creative talented players (him and piazon). If only they were a bit older and finished products...

Sergio Aguero is still a great partner for Torres....

I would lol if we do sign Lukaku and Aguero.

So in one year we would spend over 100m on strikers, i think signing Lukaku is overkill let alone adding Aguero.

If Aguero comes we wont be going for Neymar, thats for sure. We will probably go with the 4-4-2 formation and we would get a AM and thats is.

Where would Sturridge play?

Oh didnt think of Sturridge... so if Neymar comes in, we are going to play 4-3-3 eh? Maybe Aguero can play 4-3-3 as well... I dunno man, its complicated
