I said going off our current squad, but yes, we need a playmaker.

Been a while since i was here. I hope we are able to sign modric without having to give spurs too many players, maybe Kalou is enough but no both Benayoun and kalou IMO.

To be honest, I doubt we will sign Modric.

Glad we are signing De Bruyne, he will be immense in the future.

It seems like we are going after Mata, he is a good player but not sure if he is worth 30m. And signing him would mean no chance of signing someone like Hazard.

No reason to get hazard when you have mata, mate.

I know that, but Hazard is a much better player. I feel that Mata is a good player but i am afraid he will never be world class. 30m is also a lot for him.

While Hazard on the other hand has a chance to be one of the best in the world, we haven't had a player like him since Robben left.

Mata can be a lot like Ramires signing, a good player but will never be one of the best at his position.

While Hazard can be like Essien type signing. To reach the level of being one of the best at their positions.

We will probably sign Modric, according to what Harry said and what is happening around Tottenham.

He does, it does raise the question of how will our midfield lineup.

We will have Modric, Ramires, Mikel, McEachran and Romeu all trying to get 2 spots. while Lampard only has to compete with Benayoun.

Quite frankly, I still believe we will be better off with buying a winger.

With the Mata signing imminent hopefully we can bring in Modric as well and we'll have the best side in the League.

I don't think a cm,or at least modric,is coming.I think avb is looking for a winger,I hope the mata deal happens,mainly because he'll bring the creativity the squad needs

IMO, ramires can be creative and Lampard andJosh can provide any other creativity we need.

I agree gil, Bosingwa could well be our number one RB this season.

I'm quite excited to see Mata in blue. But i'm fairly sure we'll still be going after Modric if we can get him at the right price, AVB has said countless times he wants more midfielders in the squad, so i'll be surprised if we don't sign one.

Mata improves our team, but Midfield still remain our biggest problem. Hopeful that we sign Modric or Moutinho.

CM is the one position AVB has been moaning about all summer. If the Modric deal doesn't go through in the next few days as expected we'll probably try for Moutinho.

meh,moutinho isnt very creative,he has grabbed only 1 assist last season for example.He is a good passer,but dont expect him to be feeding torres and the wingers on the final third.(i often watch porto because of hulk).

I want Modric because we need someone to keep Chelsea ticking, Mikel for me is just a big piece of muscle at the back who can pass kinda well.

seriously? m8 comon, its not abt the assists its abt the play before the assists, how many assists does modric have?

We need someone like Modric also because we need creativity in the midfield. Villas-Boas also agrees and to get the best out of Torres we need creativity. Modric or someone else ASAP

But Mata would be a big, big step up from the likes of Malouda or Kalou.
