Do you rate Ozil?

Firstly I am a Real Madrid supporter and do my best to stand behind all our players but it just seems to me Ozil isn't pulling his weight. Every game I see him in, he just seems to be tripping over his own feet, looks lethargic, whines to the ref for free kicks and just seems to slow down our overall play. Heck he doesnt even seem to be able to clear the first man when taking corners.

People keep on quoting his assists but most of them seem to be simple short passes that any good AMF in his position could do. Just in last nights game againt MU, as soon as Modric came on he was a lot more fluent and we were a much better attacking unit, simple quick passes all over the pitch and just overall better play. I don't know, I just cant believe this guy is playing for our great team. I think that Real should buy Gotze and loan him back out to Dortmund for another 2 years. In the mean time Modric should be given a chance.

Oh and another question. What do you guys think about our strikers? I just feel we need a top, TOP Striker like Falcao or Cavani. We need someone that can make the small chances count IMO. A hat-trick when we are already 4-0 up doesn't mean anything to me. The goals need to come in important situations. Last season I thought Benzema was gonna be that guy but against Bayern he showed that he wasn't. What do you guys think?

Ozil didn't have the best of games vs Man Utd, however he's done fine this season.

I think Ozil would do better if our possession play was better and he was at the centre of it alongside Modric. Both he and Modric linkup well when playing together.

In terms of Modric affecting the game, I think it was because he's better at playmaking from the central midfield position than Ozil is. He's a B2B playmaker, unlike Ozil.

In terms of strikers, I wouldn't mind if we sold Higuain and got Falcao. We need a striker who has elite finishing and doesn't waste chances.

lol. he is one of our best players and one of the best Attacking midfielders in the world.

Lol, Ozil is Madrid's brain. Just because he doesn't score 25 goals a season doesn't mean he's not producing.

Example 1a, Madrid was dominating possession after going up a man when Mou brings on Pepe for Ozil. The rest of the game was United pounding the ball down Madrid's throat bc Madrid had noone to dictate the play.

He has 11 Goals and 20 Assists this season (in all comps). He had 13 and 26 last year. He's fine mate.

Yeah but last year he had 6 goals and 24 assists for Madrid. Only being at 5 goals and 11 assists is way off... His first year, 10 goals and 25 assists.

It's pretty clear that the Ozil of this year is not at the same level as the one for the previous 2. He's just so inconsistent this year. Knowing Mou, he'll start rotating him with Modric again too since Modric showed well against Man U.

it's kinda sad how little he has improved since he came to us, definitely needs to step it up. i also think it's a problem that he doesnt truly control the flow like he is supposed to

We are over rating him quite a bit. He disappears more often than not.

But he's truly class. I just personally feel that in most situations he doesn't cement himself as our creator. That link between our mids, himself, and our top 3.

He's inconsistent, sometimes when we need him he let us down.

Really? All I seem to see is Ozil tripping over his own feet. I don't even care for his goals. I just seems to me that when he plays against half decent midfielders he always gets outclassed. TBH I wouldn't even put him into the top 10 midfielders in the world. Mark my words Gotze is gonna push him out of the German NT in the next year or so.

He has been good more often than not, and when he's not so good he still managed to pull out moment of brilliance and be very decisive just like in 2nd goal last night. Stats overlook many things he does. And what's the fuss about his consistency? Before last night, he had a run of good performances: Barca CDR (2nd leg), Rayo, Man. United 1st leg, Barca CDR (1st leg), Getafe, Valencia, ..... basically most if not all games he played since maybe the Dortmund match (2nd leg). I think he's in a fine form.

He's a better player. He improved very much since he came, even though his stats went down a bit. Look at some matches from 2010-2011, and then look at some from this season, his movement, his passes, his vision are all better now. He shoots infrequent, infact has only 30 attempts this season.
