Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Stuttgart always offers a good game but today they were just pathetic. They were diving, time-wasting, whining to the referees all the time... I was disgusted tbh. Winning the game felt like a trophy tbh.
Bayern on the other hand.... what the hell?

BTW I was uber scared for Schweinsteiger's ankle there, I thought Juve had the tie in the bag when I saw the replay of how Piggy landed. With him at least they have a fighting chance, if they avoid conceding corners and FKs.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
1st place v 9th place and... 9-2.
By comparison...
The biggest win in the EPL is Chelsea's 8-0 win over relegation candidates Aston Villa.
The biggest win in La Liga is Atletico's 6-0 win over relegation candidates Deportivo La Coruna.
The biggest win in Serie A is Samp's 6-0 win over relegation candidates Pescara.
The biggest win in Ligue 1 is Valenciennes's 6-1 win over Lorient. (2 mid table teams)
This is why the Bundesliga gets so much criticism. The gulf in class between Bayern and the rest of the teams has been enormous this year. Bayern weren't even playing their 1st team!
There's now a 20 point gap between 1st and 2nd in the Bundesliga. 20 points!
In the EPL, having 20pts less than 1st will put you in 3rd.
In La Liga, 20 pts will get you an easy 4th.
In Serie A, 20 pts will get you all the way back to 6th.
And in Ligue 1, 20 pts behind PSG is 11th placed Toulouse.
Thoughts?

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Bundesliga is usually the most competitive league in my opinion. This year its not obviously, but other than first place its still very competitive. Also, Barxelona has pretty mich won the league already as well, by how many points doesnt really matter. And Bayern did play their whole first team outside of Mandzukic, Lahm, and Alaba.

@ForzaRossoneri
It's not that a 9:2 happens ever so often in the Bundesliga... And moreover, this season the HSV already defeated Dortmund in the Signal-Iduna Park with 4:1 - yesterday's monumental defeat is actually rather inexplicable to everybody.
And talking of steamrollings - what do you make of ManUtd's 8:2 win against Arsenal last season?
Sometime a team simply plays completely unchained and their opponents just don't find a solution.
As for competitiveness - you should rather see how many teams actually won the leagues within the last 10 or so years - there you will habe the BL with a pretty good number - just as well how many teams could reach the slots 1-4 - there were always far more teams involved than in the other leagues.

Hamburg just beat CL Quarterfinalist BVB 4-1 in Dortmund not too long ago, a few weeks later they lost to a weaker side in Hannover 1-5...
This was more a matter of Hamburg having psychological issues and sh**ting their pants than the actual quality of their squad.
Also Manu-Arsenal 8:2 anyone?
Edit: too late, RWO too fast for me

Kicker are saying that Sascha Lewandowski will return to coaching Leverkusen youth teams at the end of this season. Hyypia to step up?

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Sami Hyypiä will start to complete his coaching license this summer and as soon as he enrolls into the course for it, he is allowed to coach Bayer Leverkusen on his own. As the Bayer bosses obviously want to continue with Hyypiä at the helm, he will get the nod as proper coach then.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Congrats to Bayern....just watched the second half vs Frankfurt, they were extrememly lucky to win it though, and Frankfurt looking like they were about to score, Neuer great save...and referee dfefinitely were biased towards Bayern with the penalty call and numerous decisions Poor Frankfurt, but its all about Bayern winning the title back!
So happy for Heynches, and seeing him getting thrown in the air at age 68 was funny...Ribery dancing, and than some g4y celebrations

In the 1st half the ref denied Bayern a pen, too. But a bit lucky it was nonetheless.

Indeed. That Takashi Inui shot in the end was a beauty. 10cm further and Neuer would never have reached that.
BTW, I'm always a bit puzzled that it often looks as if hitting the post or bar is easier than hitting the goal with it's 7.39m x 2.42m size...

I agree, its quite amazing to see so many shots hitting the post/bar when the ratio or the size of it is so much smaller than the whole goal space

Finally we could see a nice Gladbach game, although inefficiency was shocking... de Jong came too late.
Today draw Schalke with Eintracht and I'll be happy.

Well, I hope that BMG make it to Europe again. I think they need some more practise there and it would be good for Marc-André ter Stegen, too.

Barca must be amped that all they are up against is Pizarro and Gomez, because Mandzukic is soooooo much scarier.

Godmez is more efficient than Messi atm. He's at 1.74 vs Messi at 1.73 when using Jiopsi's formula.
