Messi in the midfield has more dribbles then the wingers, more shots, more important passes then xavi and cesc combined..

They may be missing Neymar but it's not as if they missing goals. They score enough. Their problem is the defence and possibly to a lesser extent their midfield.

Not buying a defender in the summer and again in January is criminal.

Agreed.

His movement, dribbling ability, ball retention, vision, workrate & unselfishness have all been crucial for Barca this season. Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't Barca dropped more points with Neymar missing than without Messi?

Remember that BBC article insinuating Barcelona play better without Messi? Perhaps their right?

Agreed. I think it's clear that Messi is a somewhat great player who has been carried by Xavi for his entire career.

Now that Xavi is finished, Messi has done much the same way. It's a sad story, really.

He's still a top 10 player though.

Not only that but Neymar is much more entertaining to watch. He's unpredictable and leaves you on the edge of the seat...Messi on the other hand, while consistent, is near-robotic and virtually uninspiring.

Basically Neymar is the Breaking Bad to Messi's Mad Men.

If you want to praise Neymar, why not set up a Neymar appreciation thread?

Not being a super fan boy, but these 2 goals are beauties.

First gif: Iniesta wants to play to Alexis, pretty hard played ball (look at that curve), great first touch and control, good finish.
Second gif: quick pass to Pedro to extend play to the wing, good off the ball movement, first touch trows the ball up, awesome awesome awesome finish, unstoppable.
