Although you could make a case for many others, this is my opinion on who are the best players this season.

But there's been so few CM's that actually performed/fit this season and so many AMs so i had to pick in as many as possible.

Zabaleta is the indisputed best right back in the PL? My god, this league has fallen.

Nope. imo Rafael has been better.

or maybe the quality of fullbacks in europe has fallen all around.

Even so, players improve.... This Zabaleta is miles better than the shitty one at Espanyol.

He's even translated his form to the international stage, nothing to do with the league he's just just a very good fullback who IMO is underrated outside of PL watchers.

Fullback is an impossible position

No one notices the fullbacks who defend well because its usually all about positioning and prevention rather than tackling or interceptions, and the fullbacks who are great going forward DO get noticed every time they are out of position or get beat

Its impossible for the poor fullbacks to win

Zabaleta has really improved, no question. Not only did he improve going from La Liga to City, but every year since he has improved for them.

Yeah, hes pretty good now I think.

He's better offensively this year too IMO and understands when to go and when to stay much better too.

I'd like to mention due to the lack of quality fullbacks across the board i think Debuchy will have a shout next season as he's been great offensively and defensively since he joined but he can't be talked about as he's only been in the league a couple of months.

Our best signing by a country mile IMO.

There are several CM/CDMs you could make a case for if you really wanted to include another. TOTY rarely concerns itself with whether the selected players would actually form a functioning XI though.

Apart from Gerrard and Dembele i couldn't think of anyone tbh.

Who performed better than Fellaini, Cazorla or Michu at least.

Forgot about Nastasic he's been great tbh and a big reason why City's defensive record still remains strong without Kompany for long periods.

Still think i slightly prefer Vertonghen but he has been great.
