Anyone else think that Wenger has been using his tactical genius to pretend Poldi is carrying a knock, make it seem like he's fallen out of favour, so United don't prepare against him, then BOOM.

He certainly has. Instead he's sitting on the bench at Arsenal, and with the greatest opportunity to impress in front of him and save Arsenal's season, we'll probably see him get passed on by for Theo or even worse Gervais. But we'll find out, I guess.

the only reason podolski is benched is because he had hiis fitness problems and was replaced by Cazorla who has done extremely well at LW..
Podolski is certain to start next game in CF..

The rest of the team have to work a lot harder because certain players at Arsenal are not good enouph. How do some players get away with it at Arsenal?

Podolski got pace, makes good runs in behind and is a f**king ruthless finisher. Most of all he fits our style of play, he barely gets any minutes.

Not just a question of individual quality, also have to factor in team dynamics, support to the wing back, possession, creativity and playing the best possible comination in 11. Different players offer different attributes.

Add that to the boss performances of Ramsey, Arteta, Rosicky, Wilshere and Cazorla. Even Gervais and Theo had good spells. Ox is turning up in 2013. You can only play 11. And you want quality coming off the bench if things aren't going as planned.

AW says he's been working with Poldi in the middle. Only makes sense that he provide bench rotation for the CF/LW in case of injury/suspension (eg. Giroud now). We don't have anybody else to deputise for that position, unless you want to see Theo, Gervais or Arshavin play up top.

Oh did I refer to the injury rumours?

I agree, Cazoral on the left might be good for ball control but has not been good for attack. Always seems to limit our attack to the right side with Cazorla drifting everywhere through the middle except the left wing. Causes the defense to over load the right side and shut us down. Need to have someone on the LW that knows how to stay in their place on the pitch and open the attack to the full front line again. I would almost rather have this

Cazorla doesnt look good at playing as the CAM too.. Rosicky is surely better than him and arguably Wilshere too.. so what is his position.. too good to be benched..

Cazorla's best position is at CAM... We waste him out wide.

Not really.... his best form for Malaga and Villarreal came out wide. or actually LAM or RAM which is where he's playing at the moment.

He likes to float around like Silva etc etc which is why he's more suited to be be left or right where he can't be picked up so easily and drop into pockets and space.

Your set up is fine at the moment, i'd obvious say there is some spots like CB,DM, CF and RW that need to be improved upon but there is nothing wrong with the formation or set up where the players are playing.

Cazorla's best form us has been in the centre, though it's kind of a moot point since that's where he ends up even if does play LAM.

I'd debate that there is something wrong with the set-up, in that with the players play within it, we become too narrow. Cazorla coming inside is fine, but the LB needs to become a LW which Monreal doesn't do and the RW needs to stay out wide to stretch the play, which Walcott doesn't do anymore; he's beginning to play closer and closer to Giroud.

This is where Podolski is useful because although he also doesn't stick to the left hand side, he doesn't drift into central areas or even to the right hand side.

Tbf, Cazorla's form dropped when he was played central too earlier in the year. He ran out of ideas a few times when he was given all of the creative responsibility. If he's only out wide to accommodate Rosicky, I'm fine with that because he is still useful there, but when Rosicky isn't playing, Cazorla should be central yeah. I am not sold on Wilshere being our main creative force just yet.

Maybe if Podolski had ever heard of Spurs, he might have considered it

Podolski was still a starter for us for the majority of the season and most of us Arsenal fans rate him as our best LM. I don't think Godolski has to prove he belongs right now because he has already proved it. I'm sure even if he were to not get a single game until the end of the season, he would stay and if he has a good preseason, he will be a starter again next season as if he had never been dropped. It's not put up or shut up time yet, although I definitely do want to see him given a chance to impress because he has been playing well.
