OT: Inigo can work with Pique. The kid is a ball playing CB at heart yet Pique is one who needs to be marshalled and commanded as without that he is introspective and passive. There is an obvious age difference but Inigo specializes in instilling calm within the back-line in John Terry's mould followed by bursts of runs from the back into cross field passes and penetrative mid line passes to initiate a counter.

A rare breed who is a commanding CB and a ball playing one.

Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan is a target for Napoli, Roma and Inter, but now Tottenham have joined the race.

The Belgian international has long been hot property in Serie A and beyond, as in recent months he has been linked with numerous sides.

This summer Inter, Napoli and Roma have stepped forward with greater pressure on the Sardinian club.

However, reports are emerging in Italy that Tottenham have joined the race, particularly with new technical director Franco Baldini.

He had been negotiating with Cagliari on behalf of Roma before resigning to take the job at White Hart Lane.

Baldini will therefore pick up where he left off by trying to sign Nainggolan.

Personal terms have reportedly been agreed between Fiorentina and Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez.

The German striker has been open to a switch this summer after seeing his minutes limited due to Mario Mandzukic’s incredibly prolific season for the club.

According to a German newspaper Bild, an agreement has been struck between the Viola and the 27 year old but that the clubs have yet to begin talks over a fee.

Gomez has also been linked with fellow Serie A side Napoli but it appears as though the Tuscan giants have nudged out the Partenopei in securing a deal for the striker.

The Viola are expecting to have funds available from the anticipated departure of Stevan Jovetic who is wanted by Juventus and valued around €30 million.

right, so quick rundown of why this is never going to happen

1. soldado said numerous times that he wants to stay, he's very low priority as far as salable assets go (alves, rami, feg, jonas, banega would all go before he does), and he's valuable so anything below 25m is very unlikely to get him
2. atletico are balls deep in debt, most of the money they will get for falcao (which will be around half the transfer fee) will go to paying the taxman, making them unable to throw said silly amounts of money at soldado
3. we have a new board with a new president, if their first order of business was to sell our best player there would be riots

Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic may be set for a return to former club Lazio.

The 34-year-old Serbian, who missed most of the last campaign due to injury, may look favorably upon a move back to the club where he won the Scudetto in 2000.

According to Tuttosport, state that the good relationship between the two clubs could be a factor in pushing the deal through with Stankovic initialy being offered a one year contract, while Inter coach Walter Mazzarri is said to be willing to release the player as he has concerns about his age.

12 mil is about right for Rami tbh. He's not a bad defender, just not a very good one. He gets the job done. In La Liga where you can't sneeze on a player without a foul getting called, he had trouble adapting. His main strength is his physicality. I think going to a more physical league will do him a world of good.

he also thinks he's beckenbauer and tries to dribble/pass long all the time, losing the ball all the time

the guy lost a starting spot to ricardo costa of all people, and we went four games in a row with a clean sheet... selling him for 12 mil would be fantastic business for us

Juventus could be starting to turn Fiorentina’s heads in their bid to land striker Stevan Jovetic as a fresh offer has been made which includes midfielder Luca Marrone as part of the deal.

The Bianconeri have already made numerous offers in informal negotiations between the clubs, but Tuttosport are today reporting that a fresh offer of €20 million plus Marrone may be the turning point.

Not exactly offensive powerhouses in Rayo, Osasuna, Getafe and Granada.... and then you gave up 4 in the last game against Sevilla who has some good forwards.

Rami was your best defender the year before this one. He had a bad Euro and then his confidence never really recovered... his game just isn't built for La Liga tbh. I don't rate him very highly anymore. But he is better than he's shown. Saw enough of him at Lille to know what he's capable of.

so what? we played the same teams, and worse teams, before with rami in the lineup and didn't get that kind of a defensive record... and the sevilla game was a fluke, we had a player sent off and had to push forward, obviously that's going to leave gaps at the back

sure he was our best defender last year, but a) that's like winning the special olympics and b) he definitely wasn't our best defender this year... like i said, no valencia fan will shed a tear when he leaves

Rami has been talking about leaving for over 3 months too... so i don't think he's very upset about leaving Valencia either. His quote "I need to play for a good team" when asked why he's looking elsewhere was classic Laughing

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has played down speculation that Carlos Tevez will be joining the club from Manchester City. But Galliani admits things could change if interest in Stephan El Shaarawy heats up.

He said: "There are no negotiations for Tevez, for now we are filled in attack. El Shaarawy is the player we are getting requests for. I have not said that he is unsellable because in this market anything can happen."
