      Aguero
Nasri Silva Navas
Toure Fernandinho

The squad is looking pretty sick, they may want to go for full back or another center back too

They have the best full backs in the league.

They also have good cover in defence, but they could probably buy a new CB to replace Kolo Toure as the 4th choice. Or they could use Micah Richards. Not too sure what happened to him, really. Just seemed to get dropped and never regained his spot.

They struggled last year because of Mancini and injuries to the likes of Aguero and co in the final third.

The reason I have Nasri up there is because the isco thing is probably not happening now it seems.  And Nasri more than likely will go ahead and be a starter for city next season.  And yes the line up does seem more attacking, you think fernandinho would switch to the wings occasionally and put pair who else with toure?  Garath Barry still or javi Garcia?

Javi Garcia needs a chance and he's young. Toure and Barry aren't getting any younger so he could take their place soon/in the future imo.

Garcia simply isnt good enough. He seldom impressed me within Benfica & with a dynamic tandem of Fernandinho & Toure, he'll be out of his depth. There is also the need to develop a stunted Jack Rodwell who presents greater malleability within his development than an already moulded Javi, a signing of Roberto Mancini.

It is paramount that City finally address their midfield woes, which has been prime reason for their European failures. Under Pellegrini, I am confident that city will have their European woes and mental fiends behind them.

Bad decision by Isco to move to Madrid. He was saying he wanted to go where he could start for that team then he joins the team where he is more than likely to sit on the bench for the majority of season.

Why would Isco be on the bench at Real Madrid? Di Maria's no longer good enough to start and Isco would take his spot. Isco isn't just a central AM.

Also if Man City bought a striker, then they wouldn't need Isco.

Absolutely no way Isco starts over Di Maria. Not that i think Di Maria is anything special (far from it) but it's unlikely that a brand new signing waltzes in and takes over an established player's position just like that.

Hopefully Navas succeeds at Man C, he beats his man almost every time as someone said b4....and makes a dangerous ball most of the time, if he and Dezko works out a partnership, my mouth will water and enjoy it so much Smile

Genuinely think he peaked in 2009 season. He has not been able to emulate that level of performance since.

^ 6 goals, 16 assists.

He's very important to the structure and balance of the team, though Milner in his own right, does a similar job.

Navas has been decent but having both himself and Zabaleta doing the same job basically congests that side. If there was a better player on the market I would buy him

btw the underrating of DiMaria in this thread Laughing

he's got 13 assists, not 16. And that's from transfermarkt where they tend to count deflections, set piece/pens wins as assists.

Tbh i don't even think he's been decent.... his stats are inflated by Yaya Toure banging in 30 yarders from cut backs.

The only time i have seen any sort of decent performance this season he was up against CBs playing fullback.

If he's a winger and can't perform against CBs playing fullback he should just retiring, so congratulations you are doing your job well done.

Also all competitions is another way of just inflating his numbers to make him sound good....

Majority of those numbers came in cup runs against lower divisions scrubs or relegation candidates like when City smashed West Ham in the League Cup ( keep in mind West Ham were bottom at the time)

The only stats that show any type of fairness towards his performances are what he does in the league.

Same with Negredo, his all competitions return looks good but translate it to the league and he only has 8 goals.

tbf since January the whole team has been poor. This includes Navas, Nasri, Toure (bar his long shots and freekicis), Fernandinho, Negredo, Zabaleta etc

the only one who has been good is Silva and thats in patches more than anything. Before the break or Carling cup victory to be precise Navas and co were excellent with not many teams being able to stop them.

I put that down to Pellegrini and his stubbornness to play the failed 4-4-2 formation with Kun and Jovetic injured.

Well, all you're saying is he plays with good players, therefore his stats are inflated. That's fine, but it's true for just about anyone on a good team. Zabaleta has five in the league himself, and that side has been very productive as a whole this season.

30 appearances is just a way of inflating numbers to make him sound bad. 4 and 7 in 1800 minutes is a decent return, no matter how you spin it.

He ain't even play against West Ham in the league cup He doesn't have an assist in the league cup.

It doesn't really matter anyway. Earlier in the season most people appreciated what Negredo does, whether or not the stats translated from competition to competition.

Same with Navas, he does a balanced job and is important for the structure of the attack. Is Milner better? Perhaps. But then Milner is better than Willian and Valencia too.

I actually like Milner, so it's not a thing for me. The Arsenal fan hating on him is delusional, he would kill to have Milner in his team.

Navas has been lacking end product and he also should use his speed more to make runs behind defenders, he looks too happy to just be available for a safe pass on the wing.
