Title winning team ?

Podolski won't play it will be Cazorla on the left with Gibbs providing width.

Higuain is a great signing for Arsenal.
If they signed those other guys, they would surely be challengers. Although they still would need one or two great wingers (I wonder why they don't go for Nani) because Walcott and Podolski are not awesome. Also, I think Capoue or Wanyama >>> Fellaini or Bender.

have you seen bender play regularly? he good or overhyped?

our defense was better then your last season, our problem last season was scoring goals when needed

It was not. Stop looking at stats ffs. Your defence was in strife from October - January.

United had arguably the best defence last season. The only people that come close would have been City. United conceded around 8-9 goals after they had already wrapped up the league meaning they weren't playing as serious as they needed too. People then look at the "conceded" stats and then state United had the 5th best defence which isn't true at all.

united defense was bad throughout the WHOLE of their title challenge season, at the start of the season there were huge worries about their defense, they were conceded lots of goals but out scoring teams with rvp. in fact their defense actually started to improve in the later stages of the season, ynwa you dont remember last season well at all.

Arsenals defensive stats are misleading..they were alot more counter attacking team last year..they are not the passing team any more.

btw Podolski and Giroud had a good season for a 4th place finish teams ambition but definitely if they play like that for a title chasing team definitely will get tagged as not good enough.

27 mill euros is a good deal for every one.

Totally forgot about Cazorla.

Podoloski will definitely go to the bench then.

Walcott ineffective in buildup , scoring/assists? Wtf are you guys on?

If Wendey gets himself a proper DM, I would love for him to go back to our 4-4-1-1 days Proud

United had horrible defence last year lol. Are you forgetting how RVP won them matches after matches after being 2 goals down to Fulham, Southampton, along with conceding 3 at home against Tottenham, 2 against stoke, 3 against reading, 2 against West ham. It was worse than ours.

We did have a poor defence when we played Vermaelen and Santos. Whenever we fielded our best defence, we did quite well. Like conceding 2 goals in 10 games.

Prior to this month, I was sure we were not going to offer amounts over 15 mil to any player out there.

In between that time we have bid 20 something mil for Bender
And now, seemingly another 23 mil for Higuain.

It would be amazing if we somehow managed to get one of Rooney, of Fabregas to Arsenal. We can genuinely afford the wages for these players (something that would have been impossible in the previous years)

Oh well, here is to hoping we land Rooney or Fab lol

For all the people mentioning defence.....

Defence was only a problem when Vermealen was in the back 4 running around like a rabbit on speed....

Just look at their defensive record once Vermealen was dropped, they conceded 3 goals from open play in final 3 months iirc Laughing

Their problem was taking chances and creating them in big games.... their goal record was very misleading because they would usually pad up by beating teams 5-0 now and again.

But they would struggle to break teams down quite a lot.

Higuain solves half that problem, now they need their creative sources fit or sign someone and of course replace Diaby as he will never be reliable.

The defence is fine.

If this move really happens then it's time for me to start supporting and watching Arsenal again after around 10 year hiatus.

Decent signing though. Maybe a bit overpriced and although I don't rate him that highly as a player, he's exactly what Arsenal have needed for years - a finisher. He'll do well with Cazorla & Wilshere looking after him

League titles were thrown away with Adebayor, Bendtner's etc fluffing of easy chances. After the 2010 World Cup Van Persie really stepped it up but there were three seasons post Henry where Arsenal were regularly throwing away points because they lacked a clinical finisher

How much of those were conceded against De Gea? Lindegaard is a scrub. He conceded at least 7 goals in 2 games......
