Thiago has proven absolutely nothing in Barcelona.

maybe barcas problem is that they're always trying to replace xavi

just like xavi was the supposed replacement of guardiola, but it never worked out, and xavi thrived in a different role

maybe that's what you need to do with cesc... play him in the role he is the most comfortable with. not the next xavi, or guardiola, but the next cesc then you will see that selling thiago was a better choice

Make no mistake, this is legit set back to Barcelona. Thiago wasn't the next Xavi but he was being groomed nicely to eventually replace him. How Barcelona allowed this situation to reach where it is isn't the stuff of champions.

With that being said, Barcelona would find someone else as they have always done.

I'm curious to see where he fits at Bayern. There's no dropping Schweinsteiger after last season. If he keeps up those levels hes the best CM in the world. Martinez adds Mich more defensively and compliments Schweinsteigrt perfectly as we saw. Gotze is now there which means Kroos is probably gonna also be competing for a CM spot on top of AM. All 3 are noticeably better than Thiago in my opinion. The only thing I can think of is that its for the future, but Schweinsteiger still has many years left.

Bayern seem to have done a very shrewd business deal again:

Well Bayern is overloaded in midfield options now, and Barca we dont have enough backup....and still no news about what we may be bringing in, Real have got 2 midfielders already.....wtf r we doing, its mid July....

You'll probably just promote Sergi Roberto and then get the Thiago money to help fund Thiago Silva. That'll help your defensive woes. You're still the strongest team in Spain.

Thiago can rotate with Piggy as a deep lying playmaker, and with Kroos as a 10, apparently. I think it's a good depth signing. If he happens to secure a starting spot through his performances, even better.

I don't know enough about him to know how good he'd cover for Schweinsteiger defensively, though.

Moving from Barcelona bench to Bayern bench unless pep change bayern playing style or he can actually outplay likes of schweinsteiger , i dont think any of those option are possible but its football again anything can happen

I had something like this in mind, not completely sur eif Pep would or want, but theres a chance he will try something at Bayern like he did aty Barca with the 3 defenders :PBad luck to the defender that gets dropped becos of it it could be Alaba or another...

I don't know why people think Thiago isn't going to start. He wouldn't have joined them otherwise, Buyern offered everything United offered (which includes a starting place). It's like people think he's stupid and really would go from one bench to another

This. Bayern have a potential of 57 games

34 BL, 6 DFP Pokal, 1 German super and 1 European Super cup, 2 CWC, 13 CL if they reach the final. Thiago will most definitely get ample game time.

You are stupid if you think a player gets a starting place no matter how he performs...maybe Pep told him that if he trains good and brings his best performance he can get much playing time, but no one has a starting place if he doesn't perform

I have a feeling Pep will wreck Bayern tbh. I'm looking forward to it. As long as Spain is kept in check I don't care who wins the cl. BArcelona are self sabotaging as usual and Madrid are Madrid.

The cup game against BVB will be a good indicator. Madrid are Madrid. We're capable of wrecking any team on our day, super Munich included
