Question about Fabregas
If that embarassment of a football club Barca decide to sell their second best player will he return to Arsenal or go to Utd?
I heard Arsenal have a buy back clause should Barcelona sell, is there any truth to that?
If Wenger brings back Cesc, he completes the Suarez and Bernard deals Arsenal are my personal favourties for the league next year. They have an amazing British core, depth, he best defender in the country and most importantly stability the other contenders severely lack.

Is this because of the Higuain deal?
He wasnt even first choice in my opinion. Limited player.
Echo are reporting a deal for Suarez is close, Bernard seems to be all but done and I'm asking you guys about Fabregas.

Re: Question about Fabregas
There's more chance of Pardew playing free flowing football and us finishing top 6 again than Arsenal buying all those players.
Heck even just one of them is unlikely

Xavi has been done for about 2 seasons now.
My feelings about Iniesta are well known.

This is the first summer in years where Arsenal have made noise about having big money to spend.
Seems unlikely but still possible IMO.

Re: Question about Fabregas
I read that Arsenal can match the offer, but its pointless if Cesc would rather join us than Arsenal.
Also Arsenal signing both Suarez and Cesc
Yeah and we'll walk the CL if we sign Bale, Cesc and Thiago Silva
Fantasies are wonderful

Did Fabregas say that? I thought his first preference is Arsenal.

He hasn't spoken about it to the best of my knowledge, but to quote a wise comment I read, why would he want to take a step backwards rather than a sideways step?

Re: Question about Fabregas
They make noise about it every summer
All i ever hear is about Wenger's warchest
As Lex said before Arsenal's financial muscle is like nuclear weapons.
Often heard about but never seen
BTW even if they did sign Cesc, Suarez and Bernard..... the team would be defensively inept and wouldn't be winning anything.
Defense wins championships.

Statistically the 2nd best defense in the League last year. By far the best once Verm was dropped for Kos midway through the year.
And high officials have been the ones shouting about their financial muscle from the rooftops.
Doubt it's just PR stunting like on the past, they've been suprisingly vocal about it. That massive TV deal must be a huge factor I'm guessing.

Re: Question about Fabregas
This is literally the first time I've seen someone write Fabregas is Barcelona's second best player or someone call Koscielny "the best defender in the country". Not that Gil is wrong or right, just, different.
Anyway, Arsenal isn't gonna sign Cesc, Suarez nor do I believe they are gonna get Bernard.

People prefer Iniesta but I'd take Cex over him any day of the week. Very few midfielders can guarantee you 20/20 goals and assists year in year out. People have been fapping over Mata this year and rightly so but Fabregas has been replicating his form for years now.

The only other contender is Kompany and he's only had one outstanding season. You act like the PL is stacked with Baresi's and Nesta's.

Why do you want Fabregas anyway. Carrick and Cesc in a midfield two would be a disaster against any decent team.

Yep and a huge reason for that is the change in system and how much cover the midfield gave the defence after Verm was dropped.
What you are basically doing are bringing Suarez in for Giroud, Cesc for Ramsey and Bernard for Rosicky.
No defensive cover or work rate in front of the back 4 what so ever, the team would be more open and concede a lot more.
Anyway as said before City are walking this league its not even funny, by far the best team and their coach actually knows what he's doing now.

Yet you are advocating Wilshere and Cesc

Re: Question about Fabregas
I can't say I agree to what Blue wrote, personally think Koscielny is a more talented defender and probably has the "stats" to back up that claim.
Anyway Gil, while Fabregas has been great in the league, I think the issue is that he brings is that he throws a tactical "wrench" into Barcelona's whole game plan. It usually is mostly exposed when playing games where the opposition is more of a test to Barcelona. But labeling him "2nd best player" isn't that ludicrous to me...

Re: Question about Fabregas
Cesc would play AM, like he did his last two years there. Not the greatest defender by any means but they'd be able to mask his defensive flaws there.
I'm not sure who'd play in the pivot behind him but Wilshere and Ramsey especially have a terrific engine and are above average defenders despite their frame. While there's no difference between Arteta and Carrick as players.
No striker in the World apart from Cavani has better workrate than Suarez.
Unreal lineup if Wenger pulls it off with Bernard, Ox, Giroud, Arteta, Monreal, Verm etc in reserve.

Ivanovic positional sense is one of the worst I've ever seen. He's probably the worst CB at the club despite his aerial and physical gifts.
Stop it.
He'd walk into our team with JT on his last legs.

Re: Question about Fabregas
Koscielny was outstanding last season and the year before for that matter.
There's a lot more controversial things to point out.
He's a fantastic defender who has performed at every level there's a reason he was linked with Barca and Bayern.
This isn't the same player who flopped against Birmingham in the Carling Cup final, he has improved x1000.
Anyway Bernard on the bench record transfer a reserve
Ramsey and Wilshere pivot
