I think Skrtel will be off to Napoli once we confirm the two deals. But that's just me speculating.

Me too glad that we didnt spend so much on Papa, he was never worth with being injury prone. he was overpriced because schalke didnt want to sell him. Anyways he is injured now but schalke need him badlyExtremistEnigma wrote: So glad we are not getting that scrub Papadopoulos.

It's obviously not clear if you're completely wrong. Why would I make my mind up on players before I've seen them play?RedOranje wrote:We'll have to agree to disagree then, because it's clear you made up your mind on these issues/players before even looking into them, nevermind discussing them.
Lucas is a player I've watched for 5 years, well enough time to say he's an average DM. I've seen the others play plenty of times. To be honest, you wouldn't even need to, because you can tell pretty quickly they have instincts and natural reading of the game far superior to Lucas.
On Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko, admittedly I've only seen a few games of each of them, but from that and what others that have seen more have said, I'd prefer Konoplyanka.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013 Pt.III
I would be buoyant in happiness if we actually acquired Sakho. Recently he has been tremendously underrated, just by the deduction that his bench-time for a mediocre Sakho= him being average to above-average at best.
Fact is Carlo and him never got along as stripping the armband from Sakho, to which he was destined for, angered the Frenchman as we can all guess what happened from there.
Even when he did play, he was far better than Alex and continually throttled out PSG's weakness in the air and provided a commanded presence alongside Silva and sometimes even a frustrating Camara.
Reads the game well, one of the best CBs in the air, excellent leader. His problem can be his fiery attitude and red card threat.
Yet even if we acquire him for 23, though a steep price given his age and his talent; I would not mind it the least bit. We needed a new CB to be groomed under Kolo and Agger and best do it on Sakho who has been frozen out in PSG as it seems. He is not happy there at all.
Mark my words, he is made for the EPL and is a very talented CB. Would be a great signing.
Keep the wonderful updating guys.

23 million. £! €! £ would be too steep but we have to pay these premiums till we have CL. Shako, Agger, Toure and Skrtel; FOUR established CB to choose from. Yummy. Skrtel might leave (sell or loan) in winter though.
We got the long awaited back-up LB and a back-up for Lucas is due in January. If that Yarmolenko guy turns out good, I will be stoned.

Don't think we will be getting Yarmlenko either mate. . . I guess the most likely transfers to close the window would be Sakho, Ilori, Given & maybe Moses.iftikhar wrote:23 million. £! €! £ would be too steep but we have to pay these premiums till we have CL. For the record I have no problem with us potentially signing Yarmolenko, he's highly rated in his own right. Just think the price is a bit much and we could have got a better deal a bit earlier on in the window and had money for other areas.

L'Equipe is saying around 17 mil euros + bonus the AM.
So we can safely assume it'll be somewhere between 17-23 million euros + bonus as you have L'Equipe at 17, RMC at 20 and BeIN Sport at 23 lol.

If you ask me, in today's market any decent player commands €15 million. Some times you get a bargain, some times you pay a premium. I would be happy if it's €20-25 million.Nishank wrote:So is he worth that much, Is he an upgrade of any of the defenders we have?sportsczy wrote:http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Sakho-tout-proche-de-liverpool/397125

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013 Pt.III
So both Sakho and Ilori are coming in. Sakho is f*cking quality.
That would mean Skrtel's out after the Napoli game.
Is this committee THAT good?
It's rumoured Ilori is coming for 8. We're getting rid of Skrtel for 10. (Ilori will be the next Coates; play 4-5 games a season...)
We signed Luis Alberto for 8 as well. Eriksen went for 10.
A little disappointed to be honest.

Pic of Sakho at Anfield during his medical. Looks like we waited for the Romanian CB to sign for Spurs before making a move for Momo.

Mamadou Sakho is big up grade in Centre back, he got power, pace, good in the air, born leader, not bad with the ball at feet, only 23 years oldNishank wrote:So is he worth that much, Is he an upgrade of any of the defenders we have?sportsczy wrote:http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Sakho-tout-proche-de-liverpool/397125

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013 Pt.III
Poor kid. He was the PSG captain since the age of 17... started almost every game for the Ligue 1 side from ages 16-22. Carlo comes in and takes it away from him because Silva asked to play with Alex, who wasn't anywhere as good... even then, because he loved the club so much, he decided to stay and fight. Then they buy Marquinhos for 35 mil. Just a disgrace tbh.
When the Qataris bought the club 2 years ago, Sakho had offers from Arsenal and Man U. He refused because he wanted to make sure his home club was ok during the transition... and wanted to get a trophy before he left. This is how they repay him.
Then people wonder why players have no loyalty.
