Arsenal Fixture Congestion

Obviously Arsenal are closing up a tough patch of games here when they travel to Old Trafford. Curiosity led me to take a look at their schedule over the next couple months and I was shocked

According to ESPN, at the turn of the year Arsenal play 4 games in 9 days? Surely thats not right?

12/23 Arsenal v. Chelsea
12/26 West Ham v. Arsenal
12/29 Newcastle v. Arsenal
1/1 Arsenal v. Cardiff

In fact, from November 23rd to January 1st, Arsenal are scheduled to play once every 3.3ish days for a 38-day stretch

Note: Again according to ESPN, all of these games are EPL or CL, no Carling or FA cakewalks in this whole stretch

It's the TV scheduling and the traditional Boxing Day fixture that does it. It's the same for everyone afaik.

The difficulty of the games isn't the point, its the sheer quantity

If you are in Europe then yes it is..... lucky for them they got knocked out of COC.

Its not anything special though, it happens every season for any club in England who have European commitments.
