Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Ozil’s injury history:
Schalke: Out for 7 days in total
Bremen: 29 days
Real Madrid: 0 days if I am not wrong?
Arsenal: 133 (incl. latest injury)
We can blame the medical team all we want but its the training and Wenger who sends them to the Medical staff to the point where nothing can be done.
Ozil played 270mins in 10 days, such poor management. There must be a proper investigation and not sure if Wenger would allow this.

Had the Genius Manager signed another CB, we would not be going through these joke of injures.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Not sure about his Schalke and Bremen days, but when he was at Madrid, Ozil was often subbed after 70 or minutes. So although he played 45+ games, the amount of time he plays 90 minutes wasn't as much.
Ever since he's come here, it's been 90 minutes after 90 minutes. 40 odd games playing 90 minutes will take its toll. Only a few players can play that many games and not get injured in some capacity. We have no shortage of attacking midfielders but the guy has to play all the time. It's ridiculous.
We don't take very good care of our players. We could be 3-0 up in a game with half an hour ago and the manager will still keep on guys who have been playing a lot in recent weeks. Players who have been playing a lot rarely get rested. Players with a knock or injury also play on. It's a miracle Wilshere hasn't buggered his ankle again with the amount of times he's got a kick there yet continued.
Koscielny shouldn't have to play with an injury at this point in the season but a shortage of defenders is forcing him to. It's complete madness to have only one stand-in centre back who's also our stand-in right back. Just crazy.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Welbeck & Koscielny believed to be okay, according to reports.
Hopefully, we can't afford to lose them, at all!
Arteta and Walcott also believed to be ready to be involved against Hull on Saturday, too. Ramsey I think will be ready for Anderlecht, so the reports say.
Giroud is also ahead of schedule, Wenger confirmed to beIN Sport.

I din't know players still trained during the international break
Good to see Theo back, weird seeing a line up without him and Giroud

HAHAHA Makes two of us.. In my case, he started the game, ran down to the corner, pulled a hamstring and was stretchered off for 'two weeks'.

James Olley (Evening Standard) says Welbeck & Koscielny are fit for Hull game, but Ramsey, Arteta, Gnabry & Walcott won't be involved.
Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Walcott will play for the U21s on Friday, apparently. I imagine Gnabry will do the same.
No need to rush them back. Should make sure we build their fitness up properly before putting them into the first team.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wenger On Ozil : ‘He had a little problem just before he went out at half-time. He had a little pain with his knee, he felt a crack.
‘I said to our physio to keep an eye on him and if there was anything wrong with him, tell me because when you’re 1-0 down, you want to keep your offensive players on the pitch.
‘I am deeply shocked. He wasn’t involved in a collision with anybody.
‘It was just after making a pass with the outside of his foot that he injured his leg so it’s very hard to believe that you can damage your ligament with just making a simple pass and it’s very difficult to take that he will be out for a while.’
‘I am not a great believer in coincidences but this time it really is coincidence. ‘You cannot say our injuries are preparation mistakes. The big injuries we have are really accidental.
‘Scientifically we are quite good. We have been hit hard after seven games. I would never have thought we would have had so many bad injuries.’

I can't understand the logic behind playing him on. Indicates dangerous incompetence if it is how it sounds.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
From today's press conference:
Arteta back in squad.
Koscielny not available for Saturday due to his Achilles problem. Doesn't need surgery but requires "considerable rest" to get over the problem completely.
Ozil is out for six weeks.
Ramsey will be back in training on Monday and will be part of the squad that plays Anderlecht on Wednesday.
Rosicky got a kick during the break but should be fine to train today.
Walcott will play the U21 game on Friday. Gnabry is a bit behind him and won't play.

Wenger Clarifies: I did not risk Özil vs Chelsea.
That's on Özil and the physio.

“He did not tell me anything during the game, I did not even know. What happened was that at half-time, just before we went out, the physio told me: ‘Özil has a little pain with his knee, but it is not bad.’
“He wanted to go on and I told him: ‘If you don’t feel well, tell me and I will take you off straight away.’
That's on Özil and the physio.

I don't know why the physio and Arsene are getting criticized when Ozil himself should have asked to come off when he felt something on his knee

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Most of the time, players will play on through the pain when given the choice. Sometimes you've got to take the choice out of their hands for their own good.
Ozil wasn't even playing well to start with. If he's hurt as well, what good would it have done to send him back out? It's a bit of an unnecessary risk to take, especially when you've got other attacking players on the bench.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
It's on the physio first and the manager second... player comes 3rd. Physio needs to diagnose the risks and take the player out if there's danger. If the dangers are not something he can make the call on, then he needs to inform the manager and let him decide. Ozil comes last here.
In the end, this is 100% on the physio. If the player is feeling lingering pain, your job is to cross off definitely all the really bad possibilities before letting him go back out there. If you can't do that, your job is to force the player to sit until you do know. You don't wing it and let him play again. Amateur hour.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Touch wood, we'll only have three serious injuries by next week. Far better than the 82 we had before the international break.
Still have gaps in the squad but when everyone is fit we have enough firepower to make it to January at least.
