Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
on the injury to David Ospina...
It is exactly the same one [as from the World Cup]. He had his first injury at Nice - it was a knee problem and he was a bit rushed back and did not use his leg, so his muscle became weaker. Then he got injured in the World Cup. After that, he came to us injured after the World Cup and it took him two months to play again. I had to bring him on against Galatasaray without a warm up and being prepared, so he had a recurrence of that injury. It means he is out for two to three months, now we have to be really careful because it is a recurrence of a thigh injury, which is very difficult. It is a long-term injury.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Should get an update on certain injuries from Wenger on Friday.
Walcott, Gnabry and Diaby's fitness continues to improve, though there is an under 21 game on Saturday, in addition to our game with Sunderland. It will be interesting to see which of these three play in which game.
Koscielny will be rested for the next 4 weeks, according to reports, as he continues to recover from tendinitis. Then there are long-term injuries, Giroud, Ospina, Ozil and Debuchy.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wenger hopes Koscielny will be ready to play after the November international break.
Jack Wilshere suspended for the Sunderland game.
Walcott to be involved in the first team next week, but not tomorrow. Likely to start in the U21s against Stoke, along with Diaby and Gnabry.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
I'm glad we're not rushing Theo back. It's that extra bit of cushion having some depth gives you.
Now, if we only had that as well for the defensive positions...

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wilshere will miss tomorrow's game due to a minor knee problem. Will be fine for Swansea next week.
Gibbs will have a test today but Wenger is confident he'll be okay to play.
Sanogo is available again after his injury.
Arteta and Mertesacker are fine.
Walcott isn't ready to start; likely to be on the bench again.
Gnabry is still two weeks away from being available. Diaby not available yet, either.
Giroud is three weeks ahead of schedule and will rejoin first team training after the international break.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Wilshere out.
Diaby out.
Monreal out.
Gibbs out.
Koscielny out.
Ozil out.
Debuchy out.
Giroud out.
Gnabry out.
Walcott not match fit.
You look at our injuries going into the Burnley match and it's just beyond disbelief. Some people may not blame Wenger for the injuries, I personally do - firstly because he manages players wrong, secondly his training methods obviously contribute, and thirdly he's been the only constant at the club. Even if people don't think he's responsible for the injury "curse", he has completely neglected to acknowledge it and left the squad under-prepared and its weaknesses woefully exposed.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Why does every thread have to end up having some 'Wenger is an idiot' comment?
I was just feeling happy thinking Giroud is well on his way back. And then 1991 pissed all over that fleeting sense of optimism. *sigh*

Whats the point, you know when Giroud comes back means another player will be going.
Other teams players are out for a week and come back but us 3 months is good news.
One day football gods will forgive us and give us a chance to compete with a full squad.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Ramsey didn't start against Burnley due to illness.
Wilshere will miss tomorrow's game because of illness.
No other injury problems from the Burnley game.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Flamini-Arteta wasn't as bad as we thought tbh. But they played against Sunderland and Burnley.
I hope Ramsey-Arteta starts tomorrow but Arsene can be cautious.

Re: The Arsenal Injury Thread
Isaac Hayden is out too. Not that he's been used that much.
But with Wilshere supposedly "ill" and Diaby still a fitness issue and Giroud to return to training shortly after the international break, it's settling down a bit.
