Sir Chesny has silenced us all, he seems focused now and cut all the crap that he used to pull. Chesny and Valdes have turned 180 this season, not that they're not class before.

I was being sarcastic. VV has been the perfect GK for us. We did win 14 of 19 titles with him in net.

Yes, 100% they should get a new keeper. LOL, arsenal fans should be the first ones to have seen this song and dance before.

Chesney flatters to deceive for a couple months and then will pull a Carling Cup final or Euro performance or just be sub-par for a stretch of games that cost Arsenal some valuable points.

I mean it's funny that we had this same argument with certain arsenal fans on here about 2 years ago when they said he was the best keeper in the EPL and then they seemed to have come to there senses and now that he puts together a decent stretch after some brutal perfomances for club and especially country were supposed to forget about what he really is.

I mean it's not expensive to buy a class keeper, spend around 20 mill like United, Bayern etc and then put a class keeper in net for the next 10 years you don't have to worry about or start threads about when he's not messing up for a couple months to try and make yourself believe that the shaky keeper you have has turned the corner.

I mean Arsenal have been trying to solve this issue on the cheap for quite a while now when it's really not very expense to fix.

Loved it when he flopped in Arsenal's last cup final match.

He has been incredible this year. keepers like him tend to be mistake prone early on in their career, however lm still not sure if its that he's getting better with more experience just yet. lm still not 100% confident in him long term. But he has been fantastic, but ideally ld still like to bring in an older, more experience vet goal keeper to provide some competition, or be there just in case his form ever decides to dip or becomes really mistake prone in a stretch of games

Chesney has been amazing since Wenger benched him for a couple of games last season. The talent was always there, reflexes, one on one's and penalties - he's always been great at these but not the concentration and what is impressing me now is how he controls the box, he picks all the aerial balls, handling is much better and his "going off the line' is very impressive.

We still do need to sign a GK in the summer, we ain't signing Viviano and Fabianski is out of contract. If Julio Cesar is still available in the summer I'd pick him up.

Well there's a new contract so we know Arsenal won't invest in a new starting keeper unless Szczesny's form seriously takes a turn for the worse. Which it might. It has happened before.

But then again, he's still young. He may never be Neuer/Casillas/Buffon-level material but he can develop into a very good keeper. The concern is just about consistency and composure, which is not something that keepers who are 18-22 are necessarily going to give you. Sure we can all point to mistakes that Szczesny made while younger, but this ignores the role that experience might play in strengthening his attributes.

At the moment, no one could deny he's certainly performing like an excellent keeper. This season so far Szcesny has been just about impeccable. His shot stopping has been superb, and one area he's improved greatly (and where he was already a natural improvement over Almunia and Fabianski) is commanding the box on crosses and corners.

He has been one of the best GK this season in the PL if not the best. But Obviously haters won't see that.

Best keeper in the league so far. That stunning save he produced when Campbell headed from close range was superb.

Well, there would always be a sufficient amount of young GK prospects in Germany that would fit perfectly into Arsene Wenger's predatory-pattern

Been the best keeper in the PL this season. He always had it in him but mentally was really weak.

That period where Arsene benched him for Fabianksi matured him really well.

Chez is better than all these flavour of the month goal keepers who are constantly linked with Arsenal. Y'all know who they are

Go to any "which positions should team X improve on" on any forum and I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut that the first one about us goes "new keeper, new defence and a striker"

IIRC over the past summer it was mostly "a DM and a striker" although I do recall a few comments about GKs. Anyways it has dropped significantly in the generally perceived priorities.

Yup and as soon as Falcao arrives at Arsenal, Szczesny's going to announce he's off to Atletico and we'll be back to square one again
