lot of us are completely overreacting.

We score one more goal or play adequate defense in the last mins of the second leg... result is different. This tie was a stalemate. And it's not like we played anywhere near 100%. That's very encouraging.

Also, this was a preseason game.... first true competition for both teams. It wasn't a CL final or a La Liga classico to decide the title lol.

The list of things we need to improve in order to swing the balance back to our favor is small and very manageable. Let's just remember this and what that list was after last November's classico.

Improvement to the finishing is needed. Just hope it will be before December.

Anyway you are right

We shouldn't take the score seriously as the trophy isn't serious. We nailed what we intended to do which is to show we can attack barcelona till the death

Just like the Copa del Rey the Supercup isn't as important as La liga or the CL.

we will advance in our team, and everything will improve.

mou is a genius when it comes to leage games as well, i expect a very good season in the league.

Not really it was our defense that lost us the game

Two very very stupid mistakes over the two legs that should not happen at the highest level, our attacking movement was brilliant and Valdes did very well imo

Just the defense was wow, sleeping/jet lagged i dunno

Like i said before... a team like Madrid should win 90% or more of the games where we score two goals and i don't care who the competition is. Could we have scored 4-5-6? Sure. But 2 should have been enough, especially at home!!!!

Carvalho worries me with his speed. He whiffs way too much nowadays. The other guys are fine imo, although Marcelo should figure out the right time to make a lunging 50/50 attempt (a good time is not the last 5 mins of a tie game lol).

The time has come to play Ramos as CB imo, he is much better there, and he has much better on the ball skills than pepe and carvalho together, plus the passing.

pepe's passing from the back is horrendous

I'm now for Ramos as CB.
We could still use Arbeloa as RB.




And is anyone else for maintaining Coentrao at the midfield?!

Problem i have with Ramos at CB is that it makes us even more of a left-handed team than we are now. We really don't attack the right flank anymore... need to do that more often. We're making it easy on defenders.

I do want to see coentrao as RB, he has everything to succeed anywhere.

Nah I would go with Varane

Because as Marcelo sits high up as a wing back we naturally convert to 3 man back line anyway and Ramos does that alot better than Arbeloa

Good idea not to play Varane in these games imo. Kid is talented... but no need to risk his confidence at this point. Let him get his feet wet in more normal circumstances and go from there.

Sahin comes into play there, so no worry long term.

Varane is too fresh, playing for Real is no joke, he has the tools to make it, but let's not throw him to the wolves from day one.

Varane is actually going to play quite a bit this season, the end of Rollboy is coming.

Either way Mou won't throw him onto the wolves, he'll slowly incorporate him into the starting eleven.

I hope mou though uses carvalho less this season, we really need to slowly phase him out so our guys get used to not having him around if he decides to retire next year.
