Your Biggest Football Heartbreak Empty Your Biggest Football Heartbreak

Post by zizzle Tue Jul 12, 2011 5:24 am

May 5 2002. I watched every single game of that season and it was nothing but perfect ! Ronaldo was finally back, Vieri was back, Recoba was scoring amazing goal after the other, we were topping the table and all we needed was to win the last match away to lazio to win the first scudetto in 13 years, but as everyone knows, we lost 4-2 Sad i still remember how Ronaldo cried on the bench when he was subbed out in the final few mins, and that felt worse than losing the scudetto :@

For Chelsea fans it's pretty obvious- even typing it breaks my heart.

Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool in the CL.

We were so close!

Last minute goal that Lyon scored on us in the CL group stage two years ago, I was listening in the car on my way to soccer and was so ecstatic when Babel scored, then seconds before the game was over they equalize and knock us out.

tom henning obrevo is still the scum of the earth in my eyes, i remember watching the game thinking "it doesnt matter the refs missed 2 or 3 blatant penalties, were still going to go through to the final"

and then iniesta scored

also man utd 2-1 chelsea at OT in the league this season killed me, i really wanted carlo st stay and i knew that was his last chance

Netherlands - Russia in Euro 2008. That tournament was ours.

All the penalty shootout's the Netherlands have ever engaged in (safe for like one)

Bergkamp, Raul and Guti's respective goodbye's.

De La Red's final press conference for Madrid

EDIT: This is just "life heartbreak"; I have more than enough national trauma to satisfy my soul, i.e. 1974.
