Actually I don't disagree. A 6-month loan to a Championship side, with the ability to reassess in January, might be the best option.

If he bangs in the goals, move him up to the EPL, if he struggles, keep him in the Championship.

I would hope the club would be vetting the best possible options for him and where he'd have the best chance to play regularly and succeed, and not just donate as many promising youngsters we can to a club just because José's old mate happens to be their manager.

I'm hoping you're right Kickster.

I certainly hope the club wouldn't have the mentality of "well, you're mates with our manager and all, so we'll give you a bunch of our talented kids that you can use as you feel the need to." Would be deeply disappointing.
