I guess he knew that a penalty would have been useless, given the recent PK record in the BundesligaHEIL MEIN REDS wrote:Aaron Hunt

They got a decent spine for their team, they just had bad luck when they dumped more than a few bucks on de Bruyne and Xhaka. Neither of those names seems right to me, but I'm too lazy to look anything up now.

Well, playing regularly against the likes of Bayern, Dortmund, Schalke etc is quite a step up to St.Gallen, Aarau or Sion...Forza wrote:BMG is sort of a downgrade for him though, no?

61 – The goal difference of the Bavarian side is greater than the number of goals any other team in the Bundesliga has even scored.

Well, as they only got 11 goals against so far, this isn't so extraordinary IMO.HEIL MEIN REDS wrote:61 – The goal difference of the Bavarian side is greater than the number of goals any other team in the Bundesliga has even scored.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Bayern do have the best GK in the world atm - and last season, they had a record in fewest goals conceded, too.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Bayern Munich needed so few saves that they wouldn't have lost any of the last 6 Bundesliga games even without a keeper.

That's amazing.
I also agree with Rwo that Neuer is the best GK in the world, with Valdes and Cech very close.
It's incredible Neuer's catching ability. He doesn't just save, he catches balls.

Watch Valdes become the best paid GK in the world next season by those who are professionally involved in football and in most of the cases know more than you and me about the sport.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
I'm not saying that Valdes is not a good keeper this year... he's been very good. But he's not at the level of the truly elite keepers in the world. He's like Diego Lopez to me: Makes the most out of what he has, but has clear weaknesses. An elite keeper cannot have a clear weakness imo.

Like "the best GK ever" Casillas unability to catch any cross?

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Iker was out of this world in everything other than that... besides, it's not a clear weakness. It's just a weaker part of his game compared to the rest and he was prone to making mistakes there as a result. Valdes has several weak parts to his game. Namely:
- Poor against free kicks.
- Bad at defending corners. I actually feel that Iker is much better lol.
- Positionally inconsistent. He loses sight of where he is often so the angles are poor.
That said, he's been very good this year and has tried to solve these issues he's had forever. I think it's because this is a contract year for him and he wants to do his best... But he's still nowhere near elite for me.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
For some reason the pitch in Augsburg appears as if it is not only watered, but thoroughly soaped as well. I have seldomly seen as many players slipping without proper reason...
