Higuain and Raul were the two main pen takers for Madrid in 2008/09 as Ruud was injured almost the whole season. I remember vividly Pipa scoring 2 pens in a game where he scored a poker.

I just dont know why Ozil puts no heart in to his penalties? is he that confidant that he is going to score?

He has been playing long enouph to know missing a penalty is not the end of the world and pick himself up.

seriously what has the forum come too? its like everything is kneejerking and scape goating, anyone can miss a penalty, doesn't make you a terrible professional or anything, some posters need to calm down and stop the agenda driven bulls**t, big players missing pens been happening since the game was invented

Hazard takes penalties the same way. Don't get the outrage over his technique.

Alot was wrong with it, from the fact that he was taking it, to the way he approached it, to the effect it had on him for the rest of the game.

My boy Zealous used to tell me Ozil didn't change games, but went with the flow. I disagreed, I had seen him dominate Barca twice, once while we were playing with 10 men, but what I've seen during the last month and a half or so seems to support his claims.

I like Ozil, have no real doubts about what he's capable of talent wise, but his mentality I've began to question. Anyway, Wilshere should start taking penalties in my opinion. Whether Giroud is on the pitch or not.

no ozil should continue to take pens unless he refuses too, if wenger wants him to take on more responsibilities then there will be growing pains, ozil will get used to it sooner or later and it will make him a better player, people need to relax and stop judging players from game to game.

gotta love people advising mesut freakin özil how to shoot penalties, especially since he has scored more than enough with exactly this technique.

It amazes that he takes them for Germany, that's just straight up disrespecting Tomas. I hope and pray every day Germany starts Ozil, Gotze and Kroos this summer, and Tomas falls out the rotation.

it has become so bad that even i have to come to defense ffs. It's just a penalty, everyone can miss it. I understand that his general demeanor taking the pk was awful, but that's also the matter of a player being subject to doubts, a bad moment.

Beyond that, i think a lot of people here are upset that Ozil doesnt match the expectation that they had of him. People spent so much time calling him the best n10 in the world, saying he was the best assister and he had the best vision, that they started believing their own hype and his youtube videos. As classy as he looks and he plays, he is not Iniesta. It's been discussed at length here what type of players he needs around him to be successful, so i aint gonna repeat that.

But seriously, this wouldnt be such an issue if people didnt expect him to bend football by himself.

So what is see here is Arsenal fans having their club finally spend some real cash and hopping it will solve everything. Take it easy guys! Take a look at Chelsea, City and RM et al. They all splashed cash left and right and it still took time to make things work more or less.
