First and foremost, my opinion is that there's a movie thread...


Second, it does appear to be pulling most of its inspiration from the Giffen and Abnett/Lanning runs on Cosmic Marvel rather than the current Bendis run, which can only be a good thing. I saw Knowhere in the trailer which means there's a solid chance we'll get to see Cosmo, which has me excited.

If you just want an introduction to the Guardians then you could check out their mini in Annihilation: Conquest and the ongoing that follows that. Honestly though, Annihilation is fantastic and most of the Cosmic series are good all the way up thorough The Thanos Imperative.

I love that every comic book movie seems to be in a race to be "darker and grittier" but Guardians of the Galaxy just looks fun.

Jared Leto might play him

Great news. Big fan of Dr Strange. Should be a decent watch if made right. Only drawback is that Spiderman can't be involved with Dr Strange.

Emily Blunt is rumored to be the new Catwoman in the "Justice League" movie.

She was the original Black Widow before she had to bow out. Personally, I think she would be perfect for Hawkgirl.

Playing Catwoman wouldn't really block her from also being Captain Marvel since they're characters for different companies.

Ryan Reynolds was set to play 3 or more comic book characters at one point and it was only his box-office bombs, not the fact that they were owned by different companies, that stopped it from happening.

Ryan Reynolds has been is some big bombs, but i will still say he is an amazing actor. It's just the movies he has chosen have had terrible directors and writers

he should just stop choosing Comic book movies, he just has bad luck RIPD, GL and Wolverine

Hopefully the new Deadpool one will be better

Yeah, but none of those characters were in the Disney/Marvel "universe".

I still think he would be perfect as Deadpool, but I am just not sure there is enough to carry a Deadpool movie in that I always think of him as an entertaining but ancillary character.

Right, but when you have movies that bomb as badly as GL and RIPD it hurts your career no matter what your talent levels are.

No, but GL WOULD have been incorporated into the DC universe had it not ended up being such a mediocre product and box-office bomb.

Maybe our wires are getting crossed, but that is what I am saying, DC/WB is not the issue.

There is no way that Marvel/Disney would allow anyone one that matters in their universe to be in a DC/WB Justice League anything.

You do realize they're doing an event called "Spider-verse" in which all the previous Spider-characters and a number of new ones will be used, right? They've already announced Superior's return as well as the appearances of Noir and a different Spider-Woman for it and will be announcing more.

Oh that makes sense(thankfully).

This was my first time seeing Aaron Aikman. And that costume looks like a Sentinel wearing the spiderman outfit.

This morning on ABC's The View Marvel announced that Thor, Marvel's God of Thunder, will be a woman in the comics. The news is a major shift in Marvel's continuity, since Thor is one of the oldest superheroes in the Marvel universe. The new storyline will launch this October, penned by series writer Jason Aaron.

Whoopi Goldberg, The View's moderator, didn't mince words when she talked about the announcement. The character is a god — not a goddess — and will wield Mjolnir (and even the god's name) just like her predecessor, who was deemed unworthy of its power.

Don't think she will be the new Thor, just the new holder of the Hammer (Mjolnir), it has happened many times before
