I was wondring the same. Nothing narrated about the kid at all. What is he doing. What is he eating. Where is he sleeping. How many days have passed since he fled from Crasters now.

How long is such a season, 7 hours altogether? That's merely a snack, not a whole meal.
At the end of the season I'm barely appetized, and then it's wait another year.

Yep the direction was pretty *bleep* great.

My favourite shot though was the epic birds eye when the small wildling bunch starts the attack on castle black and the camera pans over the wall to the burning woods with the big army.
Had to stop and watch it a couple of times.
