Press have been briefed United are going to give LVG another 150mill in the summer. Great news that the club is supporting LVG in trying to rebuild the club to the required level.

I don't think it's necessary to spend £100mil+ this summer, but if we do I don't mind. We also have to be careful and not block the paths of our young players too much. Also spend it in areas of need, we don't want to be like Real Madrid, Isco is not a guaranteed starter, because other players that cost more pull rank, even though he deserves to be.

I know we can point to Mata as a case against this, but if we pay £70 mil for a new player for example no way we bench him

theres no need to spend for the sake of spending. And likewise theres no point in stacking players up unless we adopt cheslea's approach of loaning out 30 odd players all around the globe to different clubs. Important thing is to recognize our best players and sell the ones who dont make the cut. I think the club should focus on that in this window and even in the next window.

First step - Renew De Gea's contract

Then I think evans should find another club and perhaps even Jones if the current trend persist when it comes to his injuries.

Add 1 exciting 20-25 aged injury free CB and another experienced one. The latter is not mandatory as we now have Carrick who is doing a great job organizing and lending that much needed leadership quality that we missed for the initial part of the season. We are a much better side now defensively when smalling, rojo and carrick play together.

I think McNair can be loaned out to give him more game time to a midtable club preferably a PL one. There will definitely be suitors for him if he is assigned loanable.

Add a first choice RB, rafael - i am not so sure anymore, backup LB and of course there is Blind who can slot in to fill that role.
Young should go. He is not eventually good enough for us even though lvg is doing a good job now with him. Valencia can may be stay.

Fellaini is difficult to judge. We cant say for sure if this just a purple patch or if its legit. Right now he deserve to stay. Sell Mata if we can draw a good deal for him. Otherwise if he is willing keep him. He is a good backup to have.

If Fellaini can keep his form and herrera can come good, then theres Carrick and Blind, in addition to ADM to play in midfield, so do we need another CM ? Probably if we are in Europe next season, to add depth we might need. But right now its too early to say.

Secure Depay. At 18-20m its gonna be a bargain and the kid looks legit. Tie down falcao if he recovers touch.
Yea Bale if he is available we need to do whatever we can to bring him. But I am not so sure whether thats possible.  Depay and Bale on either side wont be bad.

at least the glazers finally see that after years of neglect and relying on fergies magic that the squad has become stale and needs new blood....this of course after some handsome new sponsorship deals so they can still lace there pockets with a good wad of cash...they can see LVG's plan in motion something I don't think they saw at all in Moyes last year as we just kept playing worse and worse.

CL football is a must for us and some significant invest now will set us up for years of CL money that is how that Glazers will look at it, plus all the other revenues our club brings in.

We should double swoop for Bakkali and him. Bakkali's contract ends at the end of the season. Seen a couple individual match highlight comps and he looks good. Although, you can only learn so much from them.

Hmm I'm not too sure about Depay tbh. I guess the advantages are is that he's young, has experience of working under LVG and if we can get him on the cheap, it won't be a bad gamble. We're badly in need of good wingers.

I agree RED, for me Depay is still not ready I watched him for the Netherlands (qualifiers) and some Europa League games, and he's still inconsistent. I think he'd need to go to a club like Tottenham before making the eventual step up, but we need wingers and it will be really expensive to get him after he's exploded. That's why I think if we were to get Depay we'd have to go after an established winger as well, because he's not ready to be a starter week in week out. I think that's why Van Gaal didn't sign him this summer. Saying that, if were able to get him this January we should do it, there's more positives than negatives.

Fully agreed. If we can get him, for say, 10/12mill, then that would be a good deal. I see potential in him, and I think he would blossom under LVG.

Bakkalli for me might struggle in the PL he is not a big lad and tbh his game as dropped off from what I understand since the beginning of last season when his hype was at massive heights.

Depay has surpassed him in that time in the PSV team for being best young winger in the Netherlands

and Depay has the physique that just makes you feel like he is going to be that powerful pacey winger that thrives in the PL with the technique to go along with it

It's because Bakkali is refusing to sign a new contract and so he got sent to the reserves. He's still raw too, but there's no risk if we're getting him on a free. He's also two years younger than Depay.

I think he's talented, but he seems to have a Ravel Morrison type reputation that will be his downfall. Van Perrsie also never used t have the best reputation either. That's why it's always hard to judge potential. Depay is probably more likely to make it because he's got his head sorted, he's also more further along because his age, but that's natural.

Of course there is arsenal and their German connection will definitely give them an edge, but arsene has more pressing issues to address right now i believe.
Psg and Pool are also there theoretically, but realistically its less likely.

So if we can beat City for his wages, who knows perhaps we can indeed land this beast for cheap.
