Only has his medical to do, but it's pretty much done. DM next hopefully, at this stage, I don't mind if we carry on doing are shopping at Sporting and getting William Carvalho. And a winger too of course.

Ideally I wanted someone who's a good passer too, but looks unlikely. Carvalho can at least break up the play and will shield the defense well, we really need that, I agree he's overpriced but we might not have to pay his release clause. Also his wages are ridiculously low (€100,000 a year). Blind looks like a poor mans Carrick, I think we need muscle not someone who is scared to make tackle and just always intercepts. I don't mind if we don't get Carvalho, just someone in that mould, I'll be disappointed if we get Blind, his versatility is not even a plus since we have Rojo now.

I wouldn't mind us doing that,...but we are desperately lacking quality in depth to take that risk.

We badly need players now.

I would take Carvalho too. He may not be a top class player, but if he can do a job and protect our over exposed defence, then he would be an ideal addition to the squad. Also, if it meant that Fletcher doesn't start a game for us, then that is another plus.

My ideal recruits in the remainder of the window:

Vidal
Benatia
Di Maria

Who I think we could end up with:

Blind
Di Maria(?)

Di Maria I think could go all the way down to deadline day.

I think we should buy a CM and go for Strootman later as well, we need the depth tbh.

On Di Maria, I think it can go either way, I know we have no CL but it looks like he's going to get a lack of games. Surely playing is better than not playing. If we get him and a DM, would make it our best transfer window in recent memory.

Nah, that's what Sporting get I think. £16mil + Nani's wages is what we're paying. Nani's stock can only rise now, if his value increases by even £5 mil, we'd get the money back that we paid on his wages and a bit more.

I'm happy they are buying Balotelli, he's a frustrating player that doesn't move, in a team where movement is everything.

Di Maria will be hard a buy, if we don't get him it will be because of no CL.

He's still a top player (if he can fix his attitude) and will provide them with goals. Hopefully what you say happens and he turns out to be a massive flop who effs up their morale.

Will be similar to Berbatov for us imo, occasional moments of brilliance, but his time will consist of more moments of frustration. Balotelli is still living off hype on his talent imo, great finisher, might even score against us, but he's movement is really bad and he won't work hard off the ball either. I wouldn't be surprised if it's true that BR doesn't really want him. They didn't even attempt to go for Fabregas, but got Lallana instead because he suits the system.

If we buy two more players, I don't think we'll have a major point of weakness in our team, like Arsenal have with ST and DM, and Liverpool's defense still looks a bit dodgy but their team is still gelling so we'll have to see, Gerrard is a potential weak point if exposed too imo

I think Hernandez will leave, he got taken off at half-time vs Swansea. Welbeck and RvP were injured/unfit. Januzaj was also unfit to play 90 mins. So, Hernandez was last choice.

Tbh, we're not very good sellers, only Ronaldo since 2007 has been sold for more than £10 mil.

I think Hernandez will have more offers, but Welbeck is better than him. When Welbeck played upfront last season he scored a goal a game, plus his all round play is better.

His story is like Sturridge, always played as winger but when played CF (Sturridge at Bolton) he had a good scoring record. If Welbeck leaves and plays CF, like Sturridge did at Liverpool, he will score more goals. Fwiw, I don't think Welbeck is as good as Sturridge, or will score as many as Sturridge did last season but I think a move will improve Welbeck.
