Suarez - among the best?

I don't think he's not a big game player, i just think his game doesn't translate to being a consistent big game scorer.

The two are different, when i say he's a flop i'm trolling i don't actually mean it.

probably yes, but anyway when you score  25-30 goals with Blackburn and Newcastle and not with the usual clubs you  can increase your status of legend. As Batistuta in Fiorentina.

I've always followed EPL even when I was 8 thanks to tv and teletext  . I remember to have always rated very highly Shearer .
Basically my first EPL memories are : Shearer the man who always scored, Owen that nice guy who was uncatchable, Bergkamp the former Inter player and so I informed me about his performance , Zola DAT italian guy, Giggs who looked like to be the speedest  player ever ,  and the Barnsley. Don't ask me why but I fell in love for that club, still schocked for his relegation

Suarez does everything in pitch , also many assists, and this year he was a great leader . the goals are an important factor, but there is other in this season .

This is what i don't get about the logic being used here, "suarez has an unbelievable desire to win, can turn a game on its head with a touch, clincal, 3rd best player in the world , but it doesn't translate well into big game" how does that make any sense?

i have seen ibra and cr have much better SEASONSSSSSSS, than suarez ever will and get criticized a lot in the past and now for not showing up, but suarez get a pass why? norwich and the like are fodders and stating padding against them doesn't put him on that level

Another thing people don't take into consideration is the effect drogba had on his team. One of the main reasons frank lampard could score 20 goals/season was because of drogbas presence, something very few strikers can offer a side.

Even for strikers, greatness is determined by more than just goals and assists

Your whole argument is that Suarez can't score important goals (which is completely untrue) then you say that it's not about goals.

Do you not think Suarez makes his teammates better? His Uruguay and his Liverpool teammates completely transform when he plays as opposed to when he doesn't.

idk the seasons where he actually won things and was decisive in them? do those count? other than barca stint, ibra has been performing at a high level sure he fails at key moments in the cl then again suarez never played in the cl so yeah

If Suarez comes to Barca he'll score against Atletico, Real, Bayern or Sacchi's Milan if you want. Messi, Iniesta, Neymar, Alves is a different support cast than Henderson, Coutinho, Sturridge and Johnson, no matter how spirited and well drilled they performed last season. He will have plenty of service and room due to other players being heavily marked. Who cares about such circumstantial and arbitrary stats? His abilities are there for everyone to see, they don't disappear against the mighty big 4 of the EPL. Mourinho's Chelsea dwarfing star forwards doesn't matter.

Ibrahimovic basically is a flop in big games. And he has always played with best club in Italy, unlike of Suarez. he has never scored against Juventus in Italy with Inter and Milan kits.

It's not the first time McAgger is being prisonner of the moment and hyping suarez to ridiculous proportions.

Anyway, Suarez in EPL, it's one meh season, one good one and an excellent one. Like i said, for him to be mentioned among the names like henry or shearer or even rvp more recently, he needs to do more.

To me it's not so much about the number of goals you score, as stat padding vs the likes of norwich or sunderland doesnt matter. It's the performance you put up when it's the most important.

Quite frankly, i dont even see how Suarez is better striker than prime Torres. I know pool fans hate him, but Torres was a freak, he was a lot more dangerous forward, and a lot more complicated to mark than Suarez currently is. Which is actually the problem, when we say that suarez crapped out vs the best teams in the league, it's because he is being controlled tactically. You couldnt even do it with Falcao back then...

Tbh I don't watch every big game Liverpool played but in some I did he played well. He ripped man city at the Etihad and us (yeah we are a big team) at anfield. I still remember his performance at the Etihad, it was a real big game performance by him n guess what he didn't score

Tbh, even if RVP has been playing in EPL for many years the guy had 2 top seasons and neither was as good as Suarez' 13-14
