29 years of age is not '' old '' is Serie A. Toni, totti, Di Natale, Inzaghi, Klose just to name few kept playing and scoring way past 33. Age is not a problem.

In today's inflated market €16m for a 29 yr old striker who also comes with a load of Champions league experience is a fair deal.

I wish , but i disagree really .

Although the deal certainly isn't anything impressive , it's neither a bad move nor expensive , for that matter . I'd say getting a 29 year old Mandzukic who's been scoring at least 20 goals for the last 3 years , it doesn't even have to be clever , that's at the very least , a decent move to make.

And 16m for Mandzukic is a good deal . Why does it even matter if he's 29 years old? As long as he can at least fullfil his standards and get at least 20 , or 20+ , it would be by all means a successfull signing. Not saying he will , but for 16m , it's worth it.

16m for a 29 year old Mandzukic , with respectable CL experience behind him , i think that's exactly the right price tbh , not a steal , neither overpaid. Just right. Although , his behaviour would be something to consider in the matter , Atletico let him go for less than what they got him , obviously it seems like they were happy to let him go , so who knows . In any case , getting him at this age and price , for 16m , it all seems pretty ok to me.
