This is a farce, where is the mighty David Luiz?!?!?!

He scored a freaking FREE KICK at a World Cup ffs. If that isn't the mark of a great CB then I don't know what is. I'd like to see scrubs like Nesta and Cannavaro score that goal.

Quite obviously the World Cup played a big part in that short list, which I find a bit strange for the UEFA player of the season.

Otherwise I would have to agree, even if I never thought I would utter these words, but Ramos was about the best player in the CL latter stages. Defended everything and scored the goals :facepalm:

Is this award based on accomplishments based on your league performances or is it strictly based on UCL and/or Europa League exploits? Because if it is the latter, Suarez name shouldn't be there as well.

Too many pointless individual awards going about tbh, considering this is a team game and all this fuss goes over celebrating whichever player happens to be massively hyped at one particular moment in time.

Even more proof that the World Cup is WAY to scrutinised as competition despite being 1 giant step lower tactically and qualitatively and brings players in its short time to a platform they do not necessarily deserve. Media is guilty of that, this forum as well as so was I (once).

Thankfully this trophy is worth as much as a DNA test proving Tom is more German than Dagmar Wöhrl. (Which he is).
