Can the Bundes-Heads (or anyone who has watched a decent amount of Bundesliga this year) inform me about this kid Christoph Kramer?

He's been getting a lot of buzz recently.

Christoph Kramer is a great Nr.6 with an enormous stamina. Unfortunately his form took a slight dip after the World Cup and right now he has some back problems. He's currently in his second loan year at Gladbach but still has a contract till 2017 in Leverkusen.

My conviction is solidifying that Roman Weidenfeller needs to be benched.

I can see the headlines now:

BILD

RDM - sacked

Guardiola - sacked

Jurgen Klopp - sacked

that manager for Leverkusen - sacked

Seriously tho, Bundes has my sympathies today. Hopefully not too many jump on the "lets bash Bundes train."

Monaco have youth. Their players are young now but I'm betting one of the Monaco players at the team atm will be well reknown one day.

Awful finishing and maybe lack of pressure. They knew they were through to the last 16.

2 out of 4 qualified. 2 others have it all in their own hands to win qualification.

And 3 of your Bundi teams just got shafted by 3 PL teams

well, then I guess you're right and we aren't as good as we thought. The Bulgarian league for example looks stronger to me.

I don't think anyone ever claimed with any seriousness that any team besides Bayern and Dortmund would go deep in any international competition.

Bayern dominated 89 minutes of their match, playing 70 of those with 10 men, while already being top of their group. Dortmund have a list of injuries that is just plain ridiculous, and are also already qualified, and AFAIK guaranteed to top their group.

Schalke have a decent base, but have only wrought insanity on the transfer market, coaches included, for about 5 season and are performing about as shit as you'd expect them to do.

Leverkusen are top of their group with a draw, and have a shit mentality, so no surprise they didn't exactly look great. If you actually saw the game, though, they looked decent, just had shitty finishing against a Monaco side that is basically trying to do a Chelsea.

So I'm neither worried, nor humbled, nor eating my words. I can still comfortably laugh at how much money clubs like City or Liverpool spent to be that shitty.

Give half those transfer budgets to Schalke, Dortmund, or Gladbach, and you'll see some interesting stuff happen.

Viva please don't include Liverpool with oil money clubs like City in the same sentence. Anything we spend comes from our generated revenue. We can't afford anywhere near the wages Bayern can, or any other top money clubs.

We are so shit in the market mainly because we are already shopping in the hand-me-down market of players whose demands are low. We can never compete for the actual top stars that most of us dream for Liverpool to sign. Also doesn't help that we have terribly incompetent people running the club's transfers.

Having money for transfer fees is only half the game.

I know Liverpool is a traditional club, but you have to be laughed at at least a bit after this season's transfer window.

My point is the terribly incompetent people running the club's transfers, actually, not where you get your money. Obviously you actually generate revenue, but if I were poking fun at City and Chelsea... Well Chelsea are actually performing atm, so that would be a bad fit.

To re-confirm the wages you are rumoured to offer Sterling at 160K Pounds a week roughly translates to around 9-9.5M Euros a season odd I guess. That is more than what Lewa, Robben, etc get at Bayern.

Also Suarez 200K pounds a week contract translates to what 14-15M Euros a year, comfortably breaching Bayern's wage structure where the highest paid player earns between 10-12M a year.

You also spend ridiculous money. Lallana cost what more than 30M Pounds? So you buy 35M Euros for Lallana, close to 30M Euros for Marko and close to 25M Euros for Lovren when you have Skrtel, Sakho, Agger and Toure.

You spend lavishly and pay lavishly. Problem is you do it poorly.

We Benatia for 26M, Dante for 5M, Robben/Ribery for 25M, Lewa for free, Goetze for 37M and Martinez 40M are our record transfers. There's not a god man bust in any transfer dealings. Maybe Rafinha is you count he cost 6-7M and is an okay back-up.

Even our back-up LB Bernat who cost only 10M is better than Moreno who cost much more.

I think it's just very poor planning on Liverpool's part and wastage of money.

Southampton bought Tadic and Pelle for 8/9M each and Liverpool bought Marko and Lallana for 30/35M Euros

Absurd reactions like these are the reason why so many excellent posters who are fans of Bundesliga clubs arrive on the forums, post for a few days then leave.

What happens on a particular match day is almost entirely irrelevant. The fact still stands that three teams have qualified with a fourth still in with a good chance to qualify. Not bad for an "average" league.

Typical Bundi scenario:  A very good generation of players/teams are developed and the league looks very good for a couple of years... and then Bayern swoop in and buy all the top players of most competitive rivals and the league goes back to the drawing board to a certain extent except for Bayern in terms of the top of the table.  Still a good league; but Bayern sabotage it all the time.

Only thing that puzzles me about Munich is why they fielded the likes of Robben & Ribery when they have already qualified for next round. Dortmund lost away to their strongest opponent with A. host of players injured and B. qualification already guaranteed. Leverkusen is leading the most balanced group of the competition and one point away from qualification to next round. Schalke, well, they have been blowing hot and cold for few years now.

Ribery and Robben were injured for a while, Ribery until very recently, Müller and Götze have played more games than them.

Also in attack we have much more options to rotate in the future than in our badly decimated midfield.
Of course Pep could have started Shaqiri, but Shaqiri is simply put as good as gone.

Apart from that, Pep took the game seriously and wanted to win, it is a big game on paper after all.

And mind you the guy is not only a Real supporter but also keeps telling everyone who can't climb a tree in three seconds how the whole of Ligue 1 just LOVES it that PSG get all that Qatari oil money and stand behind them in the fight against FFP because they're so proud of their plastic overlords.

These constant double standards are really calling out for insults, if we're honest; I won't have it any longer.
