It means better try to win your group if you aren't either Roma/CSKA or one of the German teams. ^^McLewis wrote:That team simply looks imperious and I'll spare a thought for whatever unfortunate side gets them in the R16.

What a joke of a team Man City is.. The fans should boo these guys for the rest of the season, or start a protest to get Pellegrini sacked
Absolute disgrace

On the topic of R16, personally hope RM gets Juventus. As for Man City, it's best they just don't win the league anymore. Simply wasting BPL's time with their crappy representation.

Uh, the whole league sucks.
Shameful week from the EPL.
Did you see the team Liverpool put out to face Madrid? I don't want to hear anymore nonsense about La Liga teams being easy pickings or laying down to Madrid or Barcelona.
Liverpool went out there to lose with a built in excuse.

On evidence, I think this Bayern side is better than Barcelona. Comfortably better.
Only Madrid are on a similar level from what I've seen so far.

City were woeful. Poor play and ill-disciplined. I'm not sure how they won the EPL with this bunch of scrubs.

I wonder always same thing after every City match:
why Clichy is still a Manchester City starter. He is always the main cause of their defensive problems
He made Callum McManaman seeming Johan Cruijff in FA Cup final FFS

Now we have to go to Russia and beat CSKA in the snow. Both Bayern and City struggled there so that's going to be an extremely tough match for Roma.
I'm personally just glad to have the tie with Bayern behind us. That team simply looks imperious and I'll spare a thought for whatever unfortunate side gets them in the R16.
not really, i think we pretty much shot ourselves in the foot in first leg. wasn't overly impressed with Bayern in both legs despite the scoreline.

Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group E
Well like I've been saying, hindsight is 20/20. If we had played the way at home like we did at the Allianz, we probably would've gotten a better result overall. That just means Rudi is naturally not a pragmatist, unlike perhaps Conte or Mourinho. I don't think that's a bad thing personally. Rudi showed himself to be a romantic coach. Roma's footballing philosophy itself is quite romantic so that matches up perfectly. Roma have always cared about the football more than the result. This is a big reason why we haven't won much.
The problem though is against side like Bayern, Roma needed pragmatism more than romanticism, as so often is the case when we play elite level teams, who are so good they typically don't rely on either philosophy. Rudi wasn't willing to abandon his ideals until he was ultimately forced to. I have complete respect for him for that.

Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group E
We didn't play with the same level of determination as in the first leg either though.
First leg we had were expecting a very strong Roma team and so we were on our sharpest form, however you had a bad day and made many mistakes so that's how the scoreline happened.
Second leg we were cruising a bit more, but it's not like you fielded your strongest line up either. You came set up to not lose highly anymore, and that's what happened.

Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group E
I just do not like the concept of 2 left back and right backs storming forward used to team with single purpose of pressure. someone told me this has been designed to outperform Madrid but i don't see that happening. So happy the two legs are now over at the end.

Ugh....well that could've been worse.
Our fate is no longer in our hands for the next couple of hours though.
In other news, Chiesa di Totti in absolute meltdown over that last gasp goal

I'm annoyed CSKA didn't win.
Have to grind 3 from Bayern, no choice, and the worst part is that even that may not be enough now.

Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group E
Strootman and Iturbe are getting a lot of blame from fans for their parts in CSKA's goal. I little unfair I'd say, but hindsight is 20/20.
I personally didn't like our approach to the game in the 2nd half. It was obvious we were playing for the 1-0 win and I feel we should've attacked more. We had a 2nd goal in us. Instead we shut up shop too early and simply allow CSKA to create more and more pressure.
Roma only has itself to blame for that draw, which honestly feels like a loss.

Re: Champions League 2014/15 | Group E
I didn't watch the game as I had class during the match. I only saw how CSKA scored at the death and how the game ended a minute later. Never saw the goals. What did Strootman do/not do?
As for the outcome, Roma will be fine. If they win against Man City then that's all she wrote for CSKA. If Man City win then CSKA still have a chance by grinding a draw or a win. I feel Roma are less shaky than Man City so I imagine them drawing or winning more than losing.

changed from Hoffenheim only that Rode and Höjbjerg, both central midfielders, come in for Götze and Müller.
LOOL our Hoffenheim lineup was so crazily attack minded.

You should be worried not laughing. Pep is going through that period again where he has fun distorting your line up
