Marvel's films by and large ARE quite simple and almost formulaic, but they are also generally fairly light-hearted and fun-spirited, which makes all the difference. A formulaic film that doesn't take itself too seriously and is willing to have fun is still usually quite enjoyable, if a bit forgettable. A formulaic film that tries to be super serious, on the other hand, just comes across as tedious and flat.

Further, by nature, superheroes and superhero films tend to favor the lighter tone that Marvel takes, which is part of the reason DC, Fox, and Sony have struggled at times in their adaptations (also, I personally think, part of the reason AoU wasn't as enjoyable as previous Marvel films).

They need to do something big when Marvel's not going. I'm counting on a BvS trailer, GL casting news and MoS 2 + Batman announcement.

Never was. Just a rumor going around, and people keep calling it MoS2. It was announced in 2013 at comic-con as a batman and superman movie. Before that it was just assumed I think. There's going to be a MoS2 in 18 probably though.

Yea there should be one judging by the amount of villains Superman has. Can also introduce doomsday etc for JL films in the future.

Think DC will start rolling out teasers n such for their films in comic con. Grow a sense of excitement.

Early reviews are all positive. People saying it's better than few marvel movies in the past such as Thor 2 or IM3 (not hard)

Loki elevated Thor 2 from meh to good. It was much better than the the first Thor. And Thor vs Malekith was perhaps the best fight scene out of all superhero films.

I feel the complete opposite tbh. Thor 1 is great, it was so fun. Thor 2 is the worst non Iron Man film from Marvel imo. Malekith is one of the worst villains I've ever seen. So irrelevant.
