That would be true if it had been on purpose.

Messi is only worth as much as anyone is willing to pay. And I seriously doubt anyone will be willing to pay 250m, especially with FFP. If Messi is unhappy at Barca and forces a move I doubt he will go for more than 120m, which would still be a world record.

250m is just too much for one player, even if he is one of the best ever. You could build an entire team with the sum for God's sake

He's the best player ever. Plus I reckon Zidane's fee for 2001's economy would be close to 250M for today's economy

Is the FFP even real? City violated it and they only got their CL list reduced from 25 to 21. I know Malaga got banned from European competitions but it was a matter of not paying the players and not 'spent more than what was produced.

Or we can do it the PSG way, I don't know Abramovich's job outside Chelsea but he must have one, maybe his company can sponsor Chelsea 250M a year for one year the year we buy Messi.
