Don't know who Emerson is in that line up.

And isn't Vrsaljko like 25 or something. Bought him on FIFA and he was like 25, I could have sworn.

It was a joke response to dosto's previous post, couldn't remember of a younger RB...Emerson is Palermo's LB or LWB,came from Santos.

Alessio Romagnoli should be in that defense next to Rugani tbh. I like Somma, but Alessio is cleary better for me.

Who is Somma lol ?

the list is    ironic I think , you can find various  names better than those ( nay most promising .. are we going to regret Duncan ? I don't think tbh ) , for example I am still  enough angry because we gave  Federico Bonazzoli (with recompra) to Sampdoria.

I wonder is Pato still a glass man? i love watching him play he has the whole package as a striker can do everything when his fit and on form. Would take him at juve as a low risk fee something like a loan with chance to buy at 10 mil

A central defender Roma loaned to Empoli during the winter transfer window. I don't expect him to play much except in the case of injury, Tonelli has been a perfectly adequate partner to Rugani thus far.

Romagnoli has been the best defender to ever play for Sampdoria in the last 20 years, that's how good he is. It's unbelievable that a 19 years old is so outstandingly good and reliable and plays like a veteran. Plus he's very good at attacking set pieces and bringing the ball forward, he can play leftback.
Roma got themselves a gem, he will be the best CB in the world in 4/5 years, heard it first.

Let's not lose our heads, he's had a very good year for a youngster but he's had poor games as well. Only last week he made some shocking mistakes against Torino. He's probably been the second best young defender in the league this year though and what you say about his skill on the ball is also fair, he's very comfortable playing out of defence. Gastaldello and Lucchini had equally impressive seasons back when Sampdoria finished fourth though and one might also argue Mustafi's final year, though he became over-hyped due to the World Cup.

Yes, they were good too but no one ever showed the composure and the leadership he brings to the defense despite being 19 yo is unmatched. He's had a few bad games, that's right, but Mustafi had 5 times as many and Gastaldello-Lucchini as well since they were the starting CB of the year Samp got relegated, plus they didn't have to cover two roles in one because of Mesbah unsuitability to football.

And who is the best young defender if not him? The only one who holds the comparison is Rugani, but I'd say Romagnoli has been even better than him. I guess we'll have the confirm next season when they'll play for Juve and Roma.

Rugani has looked more assured than Romagnoli, he's been the cleaner defender and equally capable on the ball to boot. Conte himself acknowledged that Rugani is the more mature of the pair at this point in time when choosing to first promote Rugani to the senior set up. Given their age though it doesn't mean much at this stage in their careers, what they do in the next few seasons will be what matters.

Darmian is also 25.

Spare a moment for the following thoughts:

1. Darmian was a Milan youth product. We let him go to Torino.

2. Milan were very close to signing Vrsaljko last summer, but we were beaten by Sassuolo.

3. Armero, Bonera, Rami and Zaccardo have all played as wing-backs for Milan this season.

I'd believe last 2 years = 1 of their years. It was 5 years ago that we won the title and nobody but Juve has won since. In a way, the fate of the whole league depends on Milan being a great team.

For the record, I agree with Dosto in that Rugani is perhaps less raw than Romagnoli at the moment and thus a bit better. That said, Romagnoli is perhaps the best defensive prospect Roma has ever produced to date.

As for Somma, I'm certainly aware that he's a Roma youth player, but I'm not seeing the same talent that Romagnoli has.

Maybe it's because my memories of Romagnoli stem back to Zeman's "we don't practice defense" days, but I'm frankly shocked to hear he is turning into a GOAT.

Pls, it's a weak era in the CB as well. The only CBs in Europe that have showed more promise before they were 20 that I can think of are Varane, Gimenez and Zouma and the first two will both rot in the bench for the next 3/4 years.
And again what impressed me the most about Romagnoli, other than his quality, is his cool headedness and composure similar to De Sciglio's 12/13 break-out season when he had the same age as Romagnoli.

Why is Gimenez going to rot in the bench? Miranda is getting sold this summer, he is on the last year of his contact.

Well   , if we consider the De Sciglio hype is already dissolved and he is  average now , it is not a great signal for Romagnoli tbh

Anyway he is probably the most promising Italian CB

A problem for Italian football is that we haven't still a great talent about identificy us .

We haven't a Dybala.

We have various good players but we don't know still who is the most brillaint player of future generation . Because atm noone looks like a top player.  Balotelli had to be the chosen one , but he failed  in the mission and he is almost nothing old 24 . We live in mediocrity .. and when it happens, you can create even an enormous hype for Scuffet, still 2nd Udinese GK and in future outscored by Meret ( my prediction :coffee: )

I think with the new tv deals coming in for the epl with the likes of teams like everton earning 100 million and stoke getting something like 80 million i think babacar will end up in a big dollar move there this summer or next summer. He is a good dribbler, target striker that is physical enough to play in any league and can finish. He had an awesome season in serie b with Modena I think it was last season or the season before he finished top scorer and dominated if I'm not mistaken
