He completely destroyed by far the best defensive team in the World and did it almost singlehandedly despite playing out of position.

Probably not, but who knows.

Not even close. Messi delivered the perfect performance. Even defensively he was excellent. Simeone tried to throw the Hiddink tactic at him (right footed defender playing LB) and Messi still destroyed Gamez and everything Atleti threw at him.

12 dribbles against that defense which is ridiculous, created the first two goals by himself and bagged at the end to kill the game off.

It's what happens when you have a competent coach who doesn't deploy Nerman on the right flank and Iniesta on the left flank just so he can fit in Flopregas.

Wasn't out of position though, he's in position in everything from midfield to attack.

What was different though is that he's finally starting to have the space everyone else has, now that teams can't concentrate only on him.

And btw, saying messi destroyed atl single-handedly is pure disrespect to his team mates right there, not after the team gave it their all and played and fought their soul out. Suarez played his heart out and was fantastic for 90 mins. Neymar i reckon played with a bloody and wounded ankle for 70 mins of the match and even managing to run rings around the defense while at it. Epic stuff right there.
