I love Aaron Rodgers. Hate to have to root against him but it's our year. This had to be done.
This has to be one of the greatest playoff games of all time. Just wow.
Good game CSpurs.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
Ok I'm sorry, when will the NFL change their overtime rules? They're blatantly unfair.
EDIT: Good game. Overall you guys probably deserved it, even if you had a lot of help from the refs. Sometimes that's just the way it is though, I'm glad I don't actually care about this sport. I'll actually be rooting for you guys against whoever comes out of Seattle/Carolina

They changed them a couple of years ago. They're not unfair at all imo. Only a TD gives the win. FG gives the other team a chance to score. It's fair that way.

Nah Freeza, I'm with CSpurs.
Both teams should get the ball once regardless if it's a field goal or touch down scored.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
No it's not, because whoever wins the coin toss gets an opportunity to score a touchdown. If they do, then the opposing team has no opportunity for a rebuttal.
I'm pretty sure most people are in agreement as to how awful the rules are, aren't they?
Games should be set up so that each team has equal opportunity to win the game. The way the game is currently set up, it's skewed in favor of whoever wins the toss. This is obvious, because if the team wins the toss and scores a touchdown, the other team does not have a fair opportunity to go down and do the same (their lack of a fair opportunity is because they...don't get one, somehow).

Meh. 53% of the times the receiving team has won the game in overtime since the rule change. That seems like a fair shot. You're just mad your defense played like shit. Would be too hard to make overtime any other way as it would make the game endless.
The rules are fine.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
I'm not upset at all tbh. I was upset during the game because it was a tight, tense game and I do care a little about the Packers, being so close to GB. That being said, I care very little about the NFL and this game doesn't really bother me much at all.
However I've always held that the overtime rules are complete and utter BS and I find it hard to believe people think otherwise. Rules of any game should be set up so that each team has an equal opportunity to win, and the team with more skill wins. The element of luck should be minimized (hopefully completely eradicated) in these games as well. Refs are necessary and will mess up, human error is a thing. That's acceptable.
What is not acceptable is setting up an overtime so that if a team wins a coin toss (the complete exact element of luck) has the opportunity to go ahead and score a touchdown and providing that they do--which, you have a point, it isn't easy--the other team does not have the opportunity to also score. Regardless of how easy or not it is to score a touchdown, the rules give a distinct advantage to the team who wins a coin toss.
The rules are fundamentally flawed.
Why do you think everybody hated golden goal? This is very similar except even worse due to the way gridiron football is set up and those in the football community were smart enough to get rid of it.
Again, I don't think that this is in anyway shape or form responsible for the result tonight, but does it play a part? Yes, but more importantly, it's a good time to talk about these rules that I've always thought were completely ludicrous.

Bills have hired the first full time Female Assistant coach in the NFL.
She will be the special teams quality control coach. Big step for the NFL.

Every single Manning throw is an absolute duck right now but they're mostly working

That ending killed me... Holy shit. Great game. That Broncos defense is something else, they outplayed us for 3 quarters.
Our O-line is absolutely terrible though, worst in the league. They didn't even get to Von Miller half the time.

Re: NFL Thread Part 2
Would love to see Peyton do it one last time, but I think this Panthers team is too much. I think their defense is a little overrated, but Denver's offense has struggled all year, and if they couldn't run the ball vs the Pats then I don't see how they do it against two of the best ilbackers in the league. Panthers have one of the better olines in the league, plus Cams legs makes me think they'll be able to neutralize that Denver pass rush, at least at times.
Also yesterday was another testament to Brady's greatness. Pressured nearly all game with like two seconds to throw each play, and he almost wins it.
