Because they have achieved and performed consistently and won lot of shit.
A player with closer to CR level pass accuracy.
A player who gets dispossessed more than isco.
Infact most dispossessed player in serie a in 2014 and 3rd in 2016 campaign.
Central midfield player "great passer" "great dribbler" with unnatural amount of dispossessed balls. Tries shit ton of Hollywood balls and lacks efficiency and effectiveness.
A very definition of raw player.
Paying 120 million for nothing other than potential.
Most overrated player ever.

agreed and I don't even know why he is compared to Modric and Kroos. Compare them to Marchisio and Khedira respectively if you wanna compare a Juve player. In our setup I wouldn't play Pogba in front of the defense because players are different, we already have 1 Marchisio, we don't need 2.
Iniesta would be a terrible DM. Pirlo would be a terrible B2B. Players do what they are good at.
I compare him to Modric and Kroos because if he came one of them would be shown the door. Would this be right ? No, of course not, at least from my point of view. Apart from being big, strong and fast I don't see anything Pogba is better at than Modric and Kroos.
None of them are being shown the door. The odd man out will be Casemiro, but I suspect Zidane will go with some sort of rotation so that all will play. Kroos becomes Modric's successor. To make this work though, James has to go, Kova likely on the loan they have talked about and Isco's minutes are going to be drastically reduced.

What would be the point in that? Lets be realistic here bill, we can learn just as much from YouTube and our own convoluted, unwavering, ignorant opinions than we ever could from actually being knowledgeable about topics prior to forming arguments and participating in discussions about them.

BTW if Pogba turns out to be a WC player you guys should also start looking for someone to replace hime, know his agent is Mino Raiola. I think he brought him to Juve in the first place just to farm him up and show case him to other clubs in Europe.
Anyway for the good of Serie A I hope he stays.

Re: The Pogba War
I have not read most of these comments yet, i tend to read football forums backwards to get the fresher news first
Do people not understand the concept of marketing and selling T - Shirts? Pogba as a player might not be worth 120 or 140 million but given the amount of shirts he will sell and the marketing Madrid will get they will generate a huge income. Madrid is known to have MADE money off signing Ronaldo despite him costing so much financially.
I think anything less then 150 million and Juventus is getting ripped off. This is just my opinion because of other factors other then obvious world class talent and potential.

Re: The Pogba War
adidas get's all the money from shirt sales...hence the massive figure they are paying us each season.
shirt sales are nothing in the grand scheme of things the big clubs sell about 1.5 to 3 million of them a year which is peanuts in there cash flow. even for clubs who get a % of the money from it after manufacturers and sponsors take there cut.
company sponsorship's are the big money and tv money

Re: The Pogba War
Do Man U's sponsor get all the revenue? They don't at Madrid and we get a ton of money for the shirt sponsorship as well. For example, just the merchandising revenue alone makes up half the wages for both Bale and Ronaldo at Madrid annually.

Re: The Pogba War
I don't really care much about the price except to the extent that it dictates the starting line up.
Being a potentially world class player, he's bound to have some off time. It's at this point that the more in form player must start. Of course, if the approach that allowed Casemiro/Kroos to play over the more expensive James (ie. doing what's right for the team rather than trying incessantly to find a spot for the shiny toy) is followed, this is a non-issue.

Re: The Pogba War
Lol ofcourse he wants to now. Its too gargantuan an offer to turn down for a 23 year old.
I remember a while back last year Pirlo was saying something like Paul would never return to United.
Its money motivated clearly if its indeed true. 100 mil for a 60 mil player. damn!!

Re: The Pogba War
A premium article written by a certain Damian Degorre that is been circulating on Redcafe right now. Came in lequipe I think. Or it didnt. Not sure.
Anyway an interesting read.
Discussions have been started between executives of ManU and those of Juventus for the transfer of Paul Pogba.
And what if he came back, 4 years later? The possibility to see Paul Pogba again in a Manchester United shirt takes more and more credibility as days pass as a first contact has been made between Ed Woodward, the executive director of the Red Devils, and Juventus Turin executives, where the 23 years old French international is under contract until 2019. Of English source, Manchester leans on a substantial financial envelope to finalise this case and satisfy the desires of Jose Mourinho, who already dreamed of Pogba, last summer, when he was at Chelsea. This works out great, Juventus has no intention to negotiate starting a certain amount (we're being told 100 M€).
For Pogba, coming back one day at Manchester was a step in his career plan.
The Portugese manager of Manchester United considers, in a first phase, to use a 4-3-3 formation, Pogba and Wayne Rooney as "relaying" midfielders, Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a centre forward, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitarian supporting the Swedish. The arrivals of Ibra and the Armenian international of the Borussia Dortmund are also about to be concluded. And those 2 players have a common point with Pogba: they share the same agent, Mino Raiola. The agent works hard since several days to speed up this deal, along with others, more random, in the media. "We are at the beginning of a negotiation phase, did he share with the Spanish newspaper Marca, on 20th June. Pogba admires the Real Madrid and Zidane, and this will weight in his decision."
In general, Raiola does not talk publicly on the state of negotiations regarding players under contract with him and, yesterday, on the Italian-Dutch agent side, they didn't want to talk about Manchester's interests, "and no other topic that is not related to the Euro". However, the contact is well activated and the possibility to see Raiola realize most of the recruitment of Manchester at a moment when Mourinho, whose agent is the powerful Joge Mendes, comes to the club, has something unreal. Especially as sir Alex Ferguson, in his auto biography entitled Leading, justified the leaving of the young French, in 2012. "There are one or two football agents who I simply dislike, and Raiola, the agent of Pogba, is one of them. Him and me, we were like oil and water. From there it was dead in the water since Raiola could integrate himself with Paul and his family and the player signed with Juventus." In a certain way, the fact that the return of Pogba is considered shows the loss of influence of sir Alex within the club.
By the way, for Pogba, coming back one day at Manchester was a step in his career plan. Even though he left the office of Ferguson in a tense context, the former Havre player always appreciated the club and its environment. Recently, in an interview at So Foot, he lauded Paul Scholes, who "could shoot ten times, ten times he would put the ball at the same place", and appreciate the fact that in England, "they want to score goals over there". If the Italian football has made him progress tactically, the Premier League was always in a corder of the mind of "la Pioche" even though he was tempted to join la Liga, last summer...
Not playing the Champions League could weight in this decision, since MU has to contend on the Europa League this season. But the perspective of playing under Mourinho tempts Pogba, really. New appointments should occur between Woodward and his Turin counterparts next week and a first offer could come in to buy the last 3 years of the player. At Manchester, the latter would find back his team mates in the national team, Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin, with whom he has to mention the club, its news and the pleasure of wearing its shirts. He wore them only 3 times in the league, in 2011-2012, and once in Europa League. And he has a taste of unfinished business.
So maybe Mourinho is confident Pogba would work under him. Should Real be unable to match the bid, and Juventus alright with a 100M euro fee, it should be done.

Saying Pogba is unproven is up there with those who used to say Zlatan is overrated when he was in Italy tbh.
If Pogba is unproven I'd say every midfielder outside of a handful in the world are.

Re: The Pogba War
You have no clue how to use statistics, without context all of what you posted is completely irrelevant. You compare the stats of a midfielder who is asked behave as an attacking player from midfield and to actually take risks with the ball to create the difference and to make plays, to players like modric and kroos who play much deeper in midfield and are usually tasked to playmake for their teams.Adit wrote:Mr Nick09 wrote:The problem Mole is not actually how good Pogba is, only a blind idiot would deny that. How that escape your logic i dont know, i guess it's easier to write mindless drivel than to actually think and use statistics in context.
