Signing Ings would be like if we had signed Lambert when he was younger. They're pretty much the same caliber players. I don't mind Ings for back-up - although we've already got loads of back-up strikers - but I'm just hoping we're not counting on him to be anything more than that.

Ings and Lambert are nothing alike stylistically though, which is more important. Lambert is a good player in the right team (as evidenced by his season last year, and previously). On top of which Ings is arguably as good as Lambert was at his peak and is only 22.

I don't think Ings is going to come in and be a world beater, but he has more potential than Lambert did, and he will be a better player for us (and in general).

To be honest I'm a bit disappointed in the names we've been linked with aside from Kovacic and Lacazette, but both of those stories seem to suggest that we're lowballing for both players (which would be typical). We've also been linked with Inigo Martinez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

We should just give up on football. Danny *bleep* Ings, seriously?!

The top striker market is thin, when you consider availability. I wouldn't mind Benteke at Liverpool, but I hate the fact we'd need to buy him from another PL club who will hold out for a massive fee. Benteke for £20m, yes, please, by all means. Benteke for £30m+? Ugh.

30m buys you a world class player if you don't purchase in England. Instead we stick to the English market because it's been so successful for Liverpool.

Lallana for 20m is really not that bad if he can stay healthy. His problem is fitness.

exactly, Higuain is always worth going after when he is available.

Even if Higuain was available, I just don't believe he fancies coming to Liverpool. In fact, if he was available and willing to come to north England, I would half-expect Man United to snap him up, they could use him as well. I really don't think we can get him.

People trying to justify Benteke rumors Would be an awful signing.

Also I'm on board with selling Sterling. Hope it happens for a massive fee.

What makes Benteke an awful signing in your opinion?

I'm also ok with Sterling being sold as long as it facilitates bringing in an elite/potentially elite goal scorer that actually wants to play for us.
